while I was on vacation, my dad gave me a call and told me our cat Shakespear had been missing for 3 days. (This cat is inddor/outdoor and knows the neighborhood. It is unlikely he got lost or went stray). Dad told me what the neighbor across from our house found, it was black fur and guts. That a coyote attacked a cat or something.
Once I returned home I put up…

Finaly the last blog! Tiger's blog!
Tiger. The first pet I rescued from a shelter, the first pet to live at my dad's house, and the oldest pet I have at the moment.
I was 9 years old, when my dad asked "Next weekend, you wanna go to the animal shelter and find a pet?". (Back then, I wasen't Obsessed with animals as I was now). It might sound like I didn't care or want a pet, but your wrong. I'm just saying, now-a-days I'm very obsessed with…

This was my third cat introducted to our Pride. My dad's side of the family planned on a 2 week vacation to Texas, which is where my Aunt lived. My Aunt Cindy is an animal lover too! She has cats and dogs! And she lives at a huge house! She had a few kittens she needed to rehome, and I was allowed to take one.
The trip it-self was was hectic. An hour and a half flying on a plane, and a long car drive home (with the new kitten). I just might be the only teen to love long…

Whenever I mention my cats, I have to tell them about my cat with loads of personality- Shakespear. Werid or strange name for a cat? I'll explain this later on in the blog.
I was 10 years old, and wanted another kitty! (I already adopted Tiger). Getting another fur baby seemed to have only positive outcomes. A companion for Tiger and me. I read the PennySaver, and soon I found 2 little black and white kittens ready to be rehomed. A male and female, $60 each. This kitty was…

Steel. Its been more than a year or so since i've rescued this dog. It all started when I wanted a dog, and my mom sayed "yes" as long as I raised my grades. And i did.
I started looking on Craigslist. I wanted a golden retriever mix or shepherd mix. I saw a post of an adoption event in front of a Petco. April. 17, a Saturday. So i printed it, and Dad took me.
I wanted a big dog. Like lab sized. Most of the dogs there were small; chihuahua mixes, terrier…

Children don't see the language of your pet as you do.
Example: Your walking your dog, walk to a house with children by it. They ask to pet your dog, you say yes. They pet your dog, and the dog wags with happiness.
Thats whats suppose to happen, usauly.
Children need to now body language early. I teach my 6 year old sister when to pet and not pet a dog.
Steel has never bit anybody exept fleas, He tolerates children, mostly because they mean play…

Everyone should know that Valentine's day is about love and affection. But not just for humans.
. I see every day, as a day to celebrate with my pets. I'm talking about a party, but something special to do every day.
Take steel on a longer walk/hike, or to a different hiking area, (because going on the same walk gets boring).
. Giving gifts. Toys, treats, or love. All pets love, love. Make sure you dont give them to much food, treats, or love. They may…

I made a blog before about my cats and dogs many health problems. Here's an update. The flea problem; i bought more flea medicine(vectra) and capstars(pills that kills fleas in 20 mins). Every pet took them, some didnt like having a pill shoved down their throat(cats), steel was use to this(because I give him lots of pills and medication). Within 30 minutes, the cats were licking like crazy, itching, scratching. Shakespear got so crazy about the fleas that he jumped on a scratching post and…

Dogs love exersice. Especially a high energy level dog, like labs, grey hounds, german shepherds, pit bulls, collies. They were bred to work. Steel and I have been going on 3 hour hikes every day, might sound boring but its really fun. The only reason I go back home is because the sun goes down, and im exausted. Steel loves the hikes too, he runs and smells everywhere.
Being back in nature is very fun. Time is still, birds chirping, the sound of a river flowing, and the smell…

Is your dog obedient? Does she/he listen to you 24/7, sleep by you at night, knows some pretty cool tricks? Dogs are related from wolves, so they have the instint to follow a leader or they will be the leader. Another question, do you leave your dog off leash, at a park, beach, when you go on walks, outside the house? I take my dog "steel" on at least one walk a day, either on the bike, regular walk with him by my side, or a stroller walk with one of my cats in the stroller. On this day i…

When its time to pick or adopt a new family pet. We look for personality, Examples: friendly, exited, hyper, fear, agression, happiness, independent, protective. We look for signs of a possable house pet type dogs, or a cuddle type dog. A personality that reflects us and our life style. We shouldent adopt a hyper dog if i have work for 9 hours a day. Or an independent dog if we want the dog to cuddle by us 24/7. Adoption tip: dont buy a dog for the look of cutness, but for the personality.…
