Edward Henry, check out K9 Warriors in Jacksonville, FL.  It is a school to help veterans w/PTSD.  Also, Guardian Angels, Williston, FL, they received a contract to train 250 PTSD Dogs.  K9 Warriors in Texas is a school (soon to close) where a disabled VN vet and his wife train the individual with their own dog.  I myself am trying to get into that school.  Under HR 943 the VA is suppose to purchase our animals for us.  That will not happen.  Out of 8000 applications, 30 were selected.  That is all the government will pay for.  Each State VA is suppose to care for the vet that needs a dog, however, again under HR 943, ONLY IF THEY HAVE THE FUNDS.  Look up a video Frederick Downs, Director within the VA system, live show on 60 min.  in 1993, he stated under no way will the VA help with the purchase of a service dog.  That is holding true today.  I can help you with info and places near you that will help if you email me usarmylady@yahoo.

STILL learning about service dogs, leave it to me to fall for a breed many consider too hard to train as such. I LOVE Huskies.

I am in the process of forming a 501c for service dogs. We will be specializing in Shiloh Shepherds. We are only in the infant stages, as this is a lot harder than I ever thought it would be. I am not a business minded person, I am a Human service/dog trainer person.

My board is growing which is a good thing and we had the blessing of the breed founder before she passed away. The Shiloh Shepherd is a natural as a service dog; and so, I know training will be easy for the trainers.

Now to the process of getting off the ground and getting donations from foundations. I will let everyone know as we traverse new steps.

Edward, I have found that U-tube is a good place to find some info on service dogs. Also maybe ask around at your Vet office,groomers, and pet stores. Hope that is helpful oh and try google! If anyone else knows any info that could help Edward please do!

Hello,
My name is Sherri. I have three girls Mali, Rani and Yuki.

Mali is my mobility, medical alert, service dog and she also helps me with panci attacks when driving as I have asperger syndrome.

Rani is a medical alert service dog who is still in training for mobility. She is a bit on the softer side and may never completely beable to be used for mobility.

Yuki my husband is training for search and rescue.

I researched this breed for years before deciding to purchase my first puppy and then became so in awe of the intelligence of the breed after getting Mali I joined the breeder training program.
