Sheba, Our Surprise New Addition to our Rescued Brood!

We went to the dog pound today to pass on our seasonal greetings to our friends there and we had a look around while we were there. They'd had so many dogs in over Christmas that they were even using the stables as overflow accommodation! Someone had even left a beautiful Saluki tied to their gates on Christmas Eve. They only found it by chance at 11 p.m. so the poor thing could have been out there all night if the owner of the kennels hadn't gone for a last look round the place… Continue

Tilly's Tale Receives Another 5 Star Review

I'm happy to say that Tilly's Tale has picked up another 5 star review at Amazon.com. this follows hot on the heels of the previous two reviews received this week. The 'wag-o-meter' on Tilly's tail is almost off the scale. It just won't stop wagging! Tilly also 'signed' a couple of books at the dog training academy yesterday. She's getting rather good at it...lol

Here's the latest:

Tilly's Tale Receives TWO More 5 Star Reviews

I'm delighted to be able to add not one but TWO wonderful 5 star reviews received on Amazon and Barnes & Noble by Tilly's Tale. I'm so pleased that the book seems to be doing exactly what it was intended to in terms of reaching out to educate and inform people about the plight of abused and neglected dogs, and about the great work of those who work so hard to rescue and re-home them. As for Tilly, she's so happy her 'wagometer' has gone off the scale and her tail muscles must be… Continue

At long last I've managed to get Tilly to agree to pose for a photo with a copy of Tilly's Tale.

Here she is, seated in my office chair of course, from where the book was written. Tilly's Tale is available from the following sources:

Tilly's Tale, 'Mentioned in Despatches'

I'm so pleased that the management at The Mayflower Sanctuary, where we first found Tilly, have given Tilly's Tale a lovely write up in their regular newsletter that goes out to all of their supporters and interested persons. they not only featured the book and the cover, but included pictures of Tilly, Dylan and Charlie who of course all came to us through The Mayflower. It's a lovely, kind gesture by Jennie and the staff at Mayflower and I'm so very grateful to them for the… Continue

For UK Readers, Tilly's Tale

A lot of people have told me they would like to receive Tilly's Tale in their Christmas stockings, and currently Amazon UK are saying that orders for Tilly's tale will be available in 4 - 6 weeks and therefore may not reach readers in time. DON'T PANIC! Abebooks.co.uk are currently offering the book, delivered in about a week to 10 days, at a great price of just £3.11 and even with the postage charges added their price works out less than Amazon's, so if anyone wants the book faster… Continue

Big thanks to Vivian and Mandy

This morning, I received a copy of Tilly's Tale, that I'd ordered as soon as the book became available in the UK. I always like to test out the delivery service when I have a new book released.

'Tilly's Tale' now Available in Paperback, The Incredible Story of a Very Special Little Rescued Dog

I'm over the moon today, because my book 'Tilly's Tale' written under my Harry Porter name was released this morning by 4RV Publishing. 'Tilly's Tale' is the first book in my 'Harry Porter's Dog tales' series and sets out to tell Tilly's life story in her own words, beginning with the appalling story of her early life and ending with the love and happiness she has found since being rescued and coming to live with me and my family. She's an incredibly talented dog who has become… Continue

Sophie, The Latest Addition to the 'Pack'

Thought I'd post a couple of pictures of Sophie, a whippet/lurcher crossbreed, the latest addition to our home and who will eventually have her story told as one of Harry Porter's Dog tales. Sophie came from a rescue sanctuary after being found as a stray and handed over by the dog warden. She is a lucky girl as a lot of dogs in her predicament end up with a not so happy ending. We love her and think she's beautiful. I hope you agree.…

Tilly has proved herself to be a real STAR!

My little crossbreed terrier Tilly, whose book Tilly's Tale will soon be released by 4RV Publishing under my 'Harry Porter' pseudonym, proved herself to be a real star last night. we were on the field near our home walking our dogs, when one of them was attacked by a vicious schnauzer who pinned him to the ground. In a flash, Tilly ran thirty yards and pounced on the attacker and pulled it away from Jarvis, who is 14 years old, almost blind and very deaf, and staying with us as a guest while… Continue

Two More New Additions.(One's a Westie!)

We now have a total of 6 rescue dogs in our home! In the last month, Alfie and Molly have joined our famly. Alfie is a one year old (ish), Parson Russell terrier who had been abandoned and was starving to death when he was eventually taken to a rescue centre, where we found him. He's now a happy and well-fed little boy. Molly, who's only been here 6 days is a 5 year old Westie, who was very loved by her elderly owners, but they have both become too ill to look after her, so she has also come…

Penny - New Addition to the Family

This is Penny, who came to us just two days ago. she was a foundling, discovered by some children living rough on the streets as a puppy. They took her to a lady they knew who works at a vet, and she gave the dog a temporary home, but she had to live outside as the woman didn't have room indoors for her as she already had too many dogs. During one of my regular visits to the vet for one of our other dogs, she asked me if I…
