Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

While we new the day would come because he had terminal cancer, he leaves behind a huge hole in our hearts. May he rest in peace till we meet again.

Comment by iraida ramos on November 13, 2010 at 5:57pm: This is Rusty, A cat i rescue about 6 years ago when he was a kitten.I had him for about 2 months. Some one ask for him, So i gave him to these people, The people i thought that would care for him his whole life put him in a shelter. I found out that they put him in the shelter by face book , I found him on face book looking for his forever home. Face book help me save his life again after 6 years that they had him. I call the shelter and this other face book friend did also and explained the situation that i knew this cat from when he was a kitten. I went and rescued him from the shelter and brought him back home. But, Some how he caught a URI during the time he was there. I gave him his medicine and he started getting better. I was trying to get him to come to me. He would not come out of the kennel. The kennel fully open for him to come out. He was sicker than we thought.On November 5, 2010, when i came to checked on him. He died in my arms and i cried. I remember when i would always go and visit and he was beautiful. I remember the day i first saw him in the streets, alone and hungry. It was summer.He came to me and i took him home. He was a beautiful kitten. This is the only picture i have of him. This picture was the picture that was posted on face book. I can only say that i rescued him when was a kittten, six years later i rescue again. And he died in my arms at home. He will always be in my heart always. Rusty, You did not go alone. I love you and miss so much.

I found him at a shelter near my home and just could not leave him there so I took him home and that was one of best things I had ever done for my family. Everyone loved him and he just loved babies so of course he bonded with the whole family. He lived to bond with my Grandchildren, Lilly & Rose and he loved our cats. Buddy was what we called a Good Ol Boy. He will forever be missed by many people who talk about him when our families get together. We all miss you my sweet little Buddy
