My Guinea Pig won't talk to me.

Before Bolt passed away in September Dash and bolt were very chatty piggies and they would wheek when ever they saw me and whistle and show general acknowledgement that i was there but it seems that since bolts passing Dash has gone very quiet the only noise he ever makes anymore is rumble strutting around mochi is it normal for them to get less noisy as they get older ? Dash is almost 2 years old now and mochi is just around 5 months old but is almost bigger then him. Mochi however never…

Is your doggie drinking water?

Just like humans most pets don’t like drinking water or they might just simply forget. They usually like fresh water so adding a couple of ice cubes to the water might help and also in order to provide a better taste try giving them some filtered water. If your doggie is very sick try giving him/her some beef or chicken broth. They love how it tastes. Dogs should drink 1/2 to 1 ounce of water per pound of body weight per day. Every time you take your dogs for a walk take some water with you.… Continue

BSL Does it work?

Breed specific will not work, pit bulls are blamed unfairly because any dog can be dangerous, and it is the irresponsible owners who are to be blamed, and not the dog.

Only a few hours left to vote.

Hi everyone,

Today is the last day of polling in the Preditors & Editors Readers Polls. With just a few hours left to go, Requiem for the Ripper is in 2nd place in the poll for best thriller and Glastonbury is in the lead in the mysteries. Please could I politely ask anyone who hasn't yet voted to vote for my nominations and perhaps secure Glastonbury's place and maybe push Requiem for the Ripper up to the top slot? Polls close at midnight GMT.…

Friends and Readers, Please Can I ask for Your Votes?

Hello everyone,

Many of you may know that as well as rescuing dogs, I'm also something of an author. I'm delighted that two of my novels have received nominations in this year's Preditors & Editors Readers Poll and I would like to ask if all my friends and readers could take a couple of minutes to vote for my nominations? Glastonbury has been nominated for Best Mystery Novel and Requiem for the Ripper is in the Best…

An Abandoned Puppy is...To Love!

Just want to introduce you all to our latest rescue dog. Lttle Sasha is our 15th rescue. She's a little Staffy. We picked her up on Monday. She is no more than 7 or 8 weeks old and was found wandering the streets by the dog warden, who tookher to the loclpound, where we found her shaking with fear and lonely, pining for her mother. Poor little thing is too young even…

Lets get a move on!

Dogs love exersice. Especially a high energy level dog, like labs, grey hounds, german shepherds, pit bulls, collies. They were bred to work. Steel and I have been going on 3 hour hikes every day, might sound boring but its really fun. The only reason I go back home is because the sun goes down, and im exausted. Steel loves the hikes too, he runs and smells everywhere.

Being back in nature is very fun. Time is still, birds chirping, the sound of a river flowing, and the smell…

Poems and thoughts we can share and love!

Against a darkend sky stands a slender shadow looking over lower ground alert seeing something move in the distance without a sound leaping forward with tremendous power muscles tightning and relaxing with the flowing rythm pure speed eating up the distance to the tiny dots in the distance joining them in a dance of grace and speed fast shadows covering ground faste than any other. Circling clearly having fun weawing fabrics of dreams as they run because they can. Freedom and happiness is… Continue

Is your dog overweight?

Dogs can gain some extra pounds just as we do that might cause serious health complications. Those extra pounds put greater stress on their joints, hearts, lungs, liver, and kidneys so it’s easier for them to get injured & it could be dangerous if they undergo surgery. Why is your dog overweight? Too much food or very little exercise… Your dog will be more playful after losing those extra pounds. It’s just not good on their…

Dogs-off lease!

Is your dog obedient? Does she/he listen to you 24/7, sleep by you at night, knows some pretty cool tricks? Dogs are related from wolves, so they have the instint to follow a leader or they will be the leader. Another question, do you leave your dog off leash, at a park, beach, when you go on walks, outside the house? I take my dog "steel" on at least one walk a day, either on the bike, regular walk with him by my side, or a stroller walk with one of my cats in the stroller. On this day i…

Personality and pets

When its time to pick or adopt a new family pet. We look for personality, Examples: friendly, exited, hyper, fear, agression, happiness, independent, protective. We look for signs of a possable house pet type dogs, or a cuddle type dog. A personality that reflects us and our life style. We shouldent adopt a hyper dog if i have work for 9 hours a day. Or an independent dog if we want the dog to cuddle by us 24/7. Adoption tip: dont buy a dog for the look of cutness, but for the personality.…

It's hard to even know what to say about the news I received from this phone call. But, it's made me physically ill to receive this news. Jacque's…
