My Guinea Pig won't talk to me.

Before Bolt passed away in September Dash and bolt were very chatty piggies and they would wheek when ever they saw me and whistle and show general acknowledgement that i was there but it seems that since bolts passing Dash has gone very quiet the only noise he ever makes anymore is rumble strutting around mochi is it normal for them to get less noisy as they get older ? Dash is almost 2 years old now and mochi is just around 5 months old but is almost bigger then him. Mochi however never shuts up we call him the mochi alarm at 7am every morning he will whistle constantly and wiggle his ears till he gets breakfast so far it only really comes in handy for getting to work on time ,if we want to sleep in on weekends i gotta give them extra noms at bedtime . Dash still gets excited about food,treats and fresh veggies but he isn't vocal about it like mochi .

Has anyone else noticed this kind of change in there piggies? i just hope the little guy isn't depressed .
