- Kitten- Brown tabby. 12 years. 22lbs of sweet love. Died Jan 14, 2007, from megacolon.
Grey Stuff- 6.5 weeks- Died due to not being rescued in time, malnourishment and worms.

- Hailey is a sweetheart and a sucky baby. At 2 she has had 2 litters. We saved her from having been kicked out with her two, two day old puppies. She is grateful to be alive for starters and lets us know it all the time. She's thankful we saved her puppies from certain death too. She was sore fomr being fixed but thanked us profusely for her never having to go through that again.
Comet is actually a really good puppy. She still has accidents, which makes her mommy and daddy disapponted, but she repents and promises to try harder. She thinks the world of her doggy mom, Hailey. She can't seem to understand why Hailey is shrinking though. She loves her mommy and daddy and rocks and sticks and leaves and toes and fingers and treats and treats and treats.
She wonders where that other dog went. The trouble maker one. She doesn't miss him. (It's her brother. Shhhh! Don't tell her we gave him up for adoption, but my sister really wanted him so she took him before he could remember what was going on. His name is Tucker. He's got yellow lab in him mixed in with Hailey's Shih-Tzu/Chihuahua.)
- Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?
- We were originally only going to adopt Comet. I happened to be there for the birth. A former friend of mine. Note the word "former." I fell in love with her on sight, she was pink and black. My hubby said to reserve her so I did. Two days later I got a call from said former friend that she had kicked the dogs out. I demanded to know where so she told me and I drove right away and picked them up. They were in a hovel, Hailey in her crate starving and severely dehydrated with the runs. The puppies were nursing furiously. I took all three and went home. We have raised them and then my sister adopted Tucker and we kept Hailey and Comet.
The cats: their mother abandoned them, and their two other siblings. The oldest was fine and refused to unlatch, Teetoo was not sick, but Trooper and his younger sister were very sick. I took one look at them and cried. I couldn't in good conscience walk away from that barn and not try to save them. We took Trooper and his sister as they were the sickliest. The girl died 24 hours after we got home, as her malnourishment was so extreme. Trooper was fine, but we wanted him to hvae a companion, so we went and found the black on, his littermate. His health was just fine, so he was happy and playful right from the start.
- Personality Characteristics:
- Sweet, Gentle, Energetic, Playful, Loving, Social Butterfly, All Bark and No Bite, Spoiled, Funny, Knows they're Funny, Sensitive, Whiny Baby, Never Complains, Loyal, Regal
- Likes:
- Hailey loves to chase squirrels and cats and joggers and cyclists and cars and trucks. She enjoys marking her territory and reads all her messages faithfully and responds to every one of them, even if it's only a brief drip. I call that "I think, therefore it is." She acknowledges all leaks and enjoys a good roll in un-neutered male pee. Hailey is the queen of "fetch." She is my diva. She sings with Comet.
Comet likes to sing, and bark at the tv.
Tucker likes to be scratched.
Trooper likes to be cuddled.
Teetoo likes to play and wrestle.
- Pet-Peeves:
- Hailey hates when I make her get off of my chair. She growls when the other dogs come close to her when she has a treat. She will hold off eating her treat until they are done, and then eat it slowly, deliberately, while they stare and drool. Then she'll growl at them for wanting it. LOL.
Comet tries to attack the TV and hates when we try to stop her.
Tucker likes to eat poop and hates when we try to stop him. (We live oin a farm n ow. He like horse cookies and cow pudding.)
Trooper and Teetoo hate getting their bum;s wiped.
- Nicknames / And by Whom:
- Hailey is "Princess" because she prances like she's all that and a bag of treats.
Comet is "pee-pee" because as a puppy inevitibly that's what she did on the floor...... when she greets you at the door, when she wakes up, when she wants up and you agree to pick her up, when you scold her, when you ask her if she wants a treat....... To this day she does excitement tinkles. We also call her "The Tinkler."
Tucker is now Cucklaly-Wuckaly- Short form is Cuckles. Long story with that one. LOL
Trooper is just that, our little Trooper. He's fought back from the brink of death.
Teetoo is actually his nickname. His actual name is Trooper-too. We have a pair-a-Troopers. LMAO
- My Favorite Toys:
- Dogs- balls!!!!!!!
Cats- furry mouse toys!!!!
- My Favorite Treats:
- Dogs-Milk bones
Dehydrated chicken and duck meat.
Cats, too young for treats. We just want them to grow up first bfeore we start to spoil them.
- Favorite Type of Walk:
- Anything that requires a leash
- Favorite Ride:
- The dogpark, or the lake.
- My Best Pet Tricks:
- Hailay and Comet sing- literally.

- They love to hear me sing

Well holy cow did we ever get a surprise with Comet. It turns out she has no mountain dog in her. However, we've been told by 9 different people who have or have had an irish wolfhound, that she is the smallest one they have ever seen. She has to have some sort of border collie in her, and we can't totally figure out where her ears came from.
Her coat has that weird sparseness, her shape is identical, only a shorter version, and as she is getting older her face fur is getting…

I had to laugh at poor Hailey and Comet. We woke to a nice layer of ice, and a wind blowing harder then any else this year. Of course Comet has never experienced anything like that, so she was almost frantic to get in after the quickest pe on record. I thought Haley was going to blow over form the strong wind. Poor little thing was too happy to relieve herself hurriedly as well.
Tracking across the ice was interesting as the door to the bulding is downhill. Getting up the hill…

My girls have become quite the travellers. My hubby has had to go over an hour drive 5x a week for a month, and we took them with us. The hospital we went to has an amazing park-like setting, so the girls got to have wonderful walks and playing and attempts at squirrel chasing. (Hailey did pull her Houdini routine once. Thank goodness she had to poop or I never would have caught up with her.)

Ha ha ha ha. We finally had to go and buy Comet her new crate. The little one had been fine all this time. All of a sudden on Saturday morning she could't sit up in it. AHHHH!!
We had been checking out prices but had held off till we could get a deal. We went into Belleville on word from the sales girl i phoned that there was a huge crate for only $50.
