My girls have become quite the travellers. My hubby has had to go over an hour drive 5x a week for a month, and we took them with us. The hospital we went to has an amazing park-like setting, so the girls got to have wonderful walks and playing and attempts at squirrel chasing. (Hailey did pull her Houdini routine once. Thank goodness she had to poop or I never would have caught up with her.)
They sleep almost the entire trips. We also take them to visit our friend's places. It's been wonderful to have them with us. That was the whole point of having dogs, as opposed to another cat.
Comet finally is able to reach the back window in the car. It is her favorite place and she spends most of her time in it. Hailey will join her up there and the two of them will playfight. Being that the window is angled toward the back they constantly hit their heads on the back window. I'll catch glimpses of them up there and there will be a flurry of teeth biting air in front of each others faces, and trying to bit each others mouths. Its hilarious.
Hailey has decided she likes to stick her head out of the window. We have the carry crate on the back seat, in case, and it's wedged in quite tightly. Hailey uses it as a step stool and I'll have the window open just enough for her to stick her little head out. It's sooo funny when she sees a squirrel or another dog and she goes ballistic.
I have had to put the window lock on several times, though, as the girls will inadvertantly step on the window button. I can't tell you how unnerving it is when I hear a loud wind and look back to see the window wide open and there is a dog hanging out of it. Freaks me right out. (It's a family car so the window isn't down completely, just half. It's still enough for Hailey to get out, though.) So, the window lock goes on, and we all feel better.
That's what the girls have been up to, and they're hoping I can get their pictures developed and up here for all their friends to see. (They'll have to wait until mommy can afford it.)
Oh, Comet has grown like a stinking weed. She is more than 25lbs now and is 28" head to butt, and then has a 14" tail on top of it. She's only 4.5 months at this posting. She's going to be big alright.
Oh, and Comet is just about fully housebroken. We're delighted and she seems to be enjoying it as well. We're very proud of her, and Hailey has been seen congratulating her when we aren't looking.
TTY All Later. XOXOXOXO Mommy, Daddy, Hailey and Comet
