BREAD PUDDING
1  10oz loaf of STALE french, or dutch crunch bread, crumbled in large pieces about the size of a brownie square. { or and 6 to 8 cups of
any type of bread=stale }

4 1/2 CUPS  whole milk

2 CUPS OF GRANULATED WHITE SUGAR

8 TEASPOONS OF BUTTER, MELTED

4 + 2 (EXTRA EGG WHITES FROM THE SAUCE) EGGS-ROOM TEMP

2 TEASPOONS OF REAL VANILLA

2 CUPS OF SULTANA RAISINS-- Option (Kahlua or Irish cream, or bourbon soak with a bit of water)

3/4 cup of Un-sweetened sliced  coconut.

1 CUP OF CHOPPED PECANS ( OPTIONAL BUT AWESOME)

2  tspns of  cinnamon= heaping for the lovers

 

METHOD OF

;1. COMBINE ALL IN INGREDIENTS Mixture SHOULD BE VERY MOIST , BUT NOT SOUPY

2. pour INTO A BATTERED 9X12" OR LARGER BAKING DISH AS THIS DOES RISE UP

(BATTERING THE PAN, IS BASICALLY OIL, IN THE PAN AND FLOWER SPREAD ALL OVER THE PAN TO THE SIDES, SO THIS WILL NOT STICK. HOW EVER PARCHMENT PAPER WORKS WELL JUST SPRAY WITH PAM AND THEY COME OFF EASY.

3. PLACE INTO AND NON-PREHEATED OVEN, TO 350 DEGREES F FOR APPROX 1 HOUR CHECK ON THE PUDDING, AS EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT DUE TO THE BREADS YOU USE AND 15 MIN, OR UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN.. CHECK OFTEN AND CHECK THAT YOUR OVEN IS ON THE MARK.

4. SERVICE WITH SAUCE BELOW AND WHIPPED CREAM

 

WHISKEYS SAUCE

  1. 1/2 CUP OF BUTTER (1 STICK AND 1/4LB)
  2. 1-1/2 CUPS OF POWDERED SUGAR'
  3. 2  EGG YOLKS ONLY
  4.  use 1/4 cup of strong liquors, and adjust to your taste, or 1/2 CUP OF BOURBON. U can use anything, fruit juices for the kids to taste)(we have used Kahlua, irish cream, jack Daniels and it came out great)
  5. If using jack Daniels instead of bourbon, add 1/4 tspn of cinnamon to dry ingredients

Method of making sauce

  1. Cream butter and sugar over medium heat until all the butter is absorbed.
  2. Remove from heat and bend in egg yolk ( room temp)
  3. Pour in bourbon gradually to your tasted, stirring Constantly , Sauce will thicken as it cools.
  4. Serve BREAD PUDDING WITH WARM SAUCE
  5. WHIP CREAM SOFTENS AND SWEETNESS

Other options who don;t drink alcohol:

For a varity of sauces, just substitute your favorite fruit juice or liqueur to compliment your bread pudding

Now use parchment paper or really batter the shell, spray parchent paper to stop the sticking!

YIELDS 16-20 SERVINGS.

OMGosh, never saw this post when you posted it. I love bread pudding, and never made it. I'm gonna give it a try in the New Year. Moving right now so can't for the Holidays. Thanks Wanda, looks yummy!
