I really think its the love that we give them, makes them want to please us.. My borthers beloved parrot levi was a challenge, he was visiting for 5 days and bit me at least 50 times, but by the end he was just checking the dogs out. I should put some videos up of him, unfortunatley he passed to soon.. so sad the loss..

i also raised cockatiels from babies and hand reared them, so much fun.I love animals as they give un-conditional love, with no judgment..

We had a Quaker Parrott, named Fluffy!  He was the funniest bird and so full of life and curiosity.  My husband was very allergic so we had to find him a new home.  That has been several years ago and I still go to see him and he always remembers me.  I don't think we give enough credit to these little ones, they have marvelous personalities.

How sweet!

I think it is awesom that small animals, birds and fishes (to name a few) are often great personalities.

I noticed this last year when a bunch of seagulls hatched youngsters in a park right by our apartment. Although many people tried to scare them away (because of the noise and mess many people find irritating they continued to guard their young day and night, fight off attacks by preditors and protect their nests and hatchlings) I felt a near attachment to these birds and have noticed that many have returned this year and seem to understand there are some human friends amongst us.

I used to have an aquarium, but when we moved I gave it and the fishes to my granddaughter. When I told these fishes that we were going to move and they would get a lovely home with my grandchildren they were completely calm during the move. Now they reward me on every visit by showing off and letting me know how well they are.
