Doggy Tales............ a story .....narrated by kanga please take the time to read kangas story

My story starts when i was just a cute little puppy, One day me and my siblings found ourselves alone without our mother, it was a frightening time for all of us.I took on the role as head of my little family, My mother used to tell me me i was fearless and mischievous, so it seemed the obvious solution , i would would be the leader of my pack,

At the beginning of our journey to growing up things seemed to look promising,My siblings and i stayed together for a short period, it was later on my journey to becoming a fully grown adult took a surprising turn

me and my family was placed in a rehoming centre, when we first arrived there it was very noisy and a little scary too, By the end of our first day at the rescue centre we finally settled down in our nice warm beds with a big bowl of food and fresh water, maybe it wasnt so scary after all

The next morning we were woken at 8am prompt and served breakfast.Being the new kid on the block i wasnt quite upto  parr with the rules, needless to say i soon learned the rules, its a dog eat dog world and you have to be ready to tackle any event.Over the next few weeks we noticed alot of new arrivals to the centre both canine and human, we made new friends and dare i say some enemies too,The human visitors that came to the centre sometimes took  some of the other dogs homeand we were never to see our newfound friends again, Me and my siblings often daydreamed about finding a forever home  of our own , it was too much to hope for that we would all be able to stay together but if each one of us could find a loving owner to give us a forever home then that was more than enough,My best times living at the centre has got to be when the days were long and the sky was filled with sunshine we would play within the grounds and bask in the sun, As time went on i gained confidence and became content with my new surroundings, friends and carers,you could say life was looking good for us young pups,we had everything we needed here love ,attention, a warm bed good health and 3 meals a day, i think i was our cares favourite out of the bunch ,she never said so but she would always whisper to me your a real little loveable rascal kanga,Time went on and we was all happy then the day came that one of my sisters was fortunate enough to find her forever home, it was hard to let go and say goodbye but i knew she would be well looked after, a week later my brother and sister found their forever homes too and i was left alone, I was happy for them but lonely without them, after we enterd this world together and now for the first time in our short lives we were seperated.I carried on with my daily routines often thinking about my family, The sunny days passed and turned into autum  then winter, Id watch each day as the human visitors arrived and some lucky puppy was chosen  to be adopted, i began to wonder if i would ever find some to love me, some one i could love back and be the perfect companion to, My hopes of this never faded although i must admit sometimes i thought i was destined to live out my years at the rescue centre, Until one day very close to the christmas holidays i finally met my mom, she looked at me with such loving eyes i hesitantly moved closer to her trying not to build my hopes to high  i  wagged my tail she offered me her hand i licked it gently and she stroked my head ever so softly, Hi  kanga  please to meet you she said, and right now im thinking to myself  C,mon  boy be on your best behaviour and give your best doggy smile, It worked, My mom visited me everyday at the centre for the whole 2 weeks we would walk around the grounds even though it was cold and rainy   but that didnt matter to either of us we just enjoyed our time together, it was 22nd dec  the last day before the centre was closed for the christmas holidays it was raing hard and the skys were filled with the threat of snow  my mom had come to visit me and instead of walking round the grounds getting soaked through we spent our time sat in the gazebo which was situate close to my kennel, mom held on to me tightly as if she was never going to let go she bent her head towards mine and whispered into my ear ....Im taking you home today kang  to your forever home were i will love you always and look after you, i cocked my head to one side wondering if i had heard  her righ, ALL those months sometimes thinking id never find my forever home  and now right before christmas my dreams had come true, that was in 2006 and now 5yrs later i couldnt be happier, healthier or fitter, i love my mom with all my doggy heart and she returns the love back without condition so the moral to my story is ..........Dreams do come true, Never give up on a Dream 

 

 

This is a story book of kangas life as a pup i printed  the story as if kanga was telling it , it is now part of a  childrens school library  in 4 infant schools  it has never been published   but has been printed for the use of school libraries  , hope you enjoyed reading it as much as i enjoyed sharing it with you my friends
