Another 5 Star Review for 'Dylan's Tale'

I'm delighted that new release, Dylan's Tale has picked up its second 5 star review in two days, this time from Glenda Cates at Goodreads. This is Glenda's review:

Glenda Cates rated it 5 of 5 stars
I Loved this book. It was everything I expected and so much more. I look forward to reading the stories of the other puppies as well. I also Loved knowing there rescue dogs. My son who is 3 and my husband also Loved the book just as much as I did. I will be buying these as gifts as I think anyone who has a pet should read them as they show us how to treat our animals.
The book can be obtained from Barnes & Noble
also from Amazon.com and from Amazon.co.uk and 4RV Publishing

and many other book sellers, and the first book in the series, the award winning Tilly's Tale is available from all the same resources.

I too would do anything to help my dogs, Kathi, and like you, would only have them put to sleep if it became the kindest thing to do. I've had to do it twice and it was the hardest things I've ever done in my life and I held and cuddled Candy and Sophie, my dachshunds, as they fell asleep, and broke my heart for days and weeks afterwards. I still think of them every day and have their pictures on the wall in my office, right in front of where I sit at my computer. My insurance gives me cover for life to the value of £4000 (around $8000) per illness or condition per year, and costs on average about £5, ($!0) a month, per dog, some a bit more, some a bit less depending on age, breed etc. The cover is provided through Tesco, one of our major store chains over here, and is far better than that provided by some specialist pet insurers. In other words my dogs are covered for virtually everything and I even get £1,000,000 public liability cover for if they cause an accident or something.

Gassing is barbaric, fortunately there are not many places left that do this.  What kind of insurance do you have for Sasha?  I have looked into getting insurance but it doesn't seem to be very good for the amount of money each month, like ASPCA and a few others.  I really had wanted to do that for Mickie and Sassie and any others we would have.  I couldn't put my dogs to sleep unless they were suffering horribly and there was no hope.  I would have to do everything possible to help them, some people just don't think that way though, it is like they are disposable!

That's just terrible, Kathi. I can't believe anyone would do such things in a civilized world. Gassing? That's barbaric. at last here, if a dog has to be 'put to sleep' it's done quickly with an injection and there is no suffering involved. You have brought tears of sadness to my eyes. It's like someone taking poor little Sasha and gassing her. So far our vet bill for her is over £2,000, (around $4,000), and some people might have put her to sleep rather than pay out, but we have insurance for her and only have to pay a small amount, and she's worth every penny.

They truly are wonderful words Brian.  I am so pleased for you and I agree I hope we get to read the stories of all your rescues.  I am looking forward to seeing pictures of Misty.  I needed to read that review this morning as it has been a rough one.  A mom dog and her four babies were gassed this morning in Gaston NC despite all the begging and praying and posting to get them saved.  That is a hard pill to swallow.  Heart breaking to say the least.  I guess all that can be done is to move on and help save the ones we can.  Someday things will not be this way.  Sorry for unloading but it was to much for me this morning.

Love and hugs to you and the babies.

Kathi

Hi Kathi,

Thanks a lot, you really must take a look at http://www.DaddyandSonsViewPoint.blogspot.com/ There are some wonderful words about the books there. Little Misty is doing great thanks. I've done some pics and will get them uploaded as soon as I can and they will then be on Tilly's Blog first and then here and everywhere else I can put them...hehe
