How To Find A Lost Dog
First, search your property thoroughly. Small dogs can get into some mighty strange places.
The point is, look in EVERY nook and cranny.
Look behind, under, and inside washing machines, clothes dryers, stoves, refrigerators, and dish washers. Look behind water heaters, in boxes, under furniture, under beds, in closets, in cabinets, in shelves and bookcases, in drain pipes, in sewer drains, in culvert pipes, under vehicles, in crawl spaces…

Winter’s chill may have settled in your neighborhood, but your energetic pooch still wants to go for walks in the great outdoors. Take it slow and steady, pet parents. According to our experts, the danger of stray voltage on city streets can turn a simple stroll into a devastating event for our furry friends.
Most common in northern climes and urban areas, stray voltage occurs when dormant utilities leak excess electricity. Combined with wet…

NSAIDs
NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) like ibuprofen or naproxen are the most common cause of pet poisoning in small animals, and can cause serious problems even in minimal doses. Pets are extremely sensitive to their effects, and may experience stomach and intestinal ulcers and—in the case of cats—kidney damage.
Antidepressants
Antidepressants can cause vomiting and lethargy and certain types can lead to serotonin syndrome—a condition marked by agitation,…

Q: I use air fresheners in my home, but have been told I shouldn't. Are they bad for my health?
A: It certainly looks like they are. Recent research strongly suggests that they raise your risk of a number of pulmonary diseases. Last year researchers found that being exposed to chemicals from air fresheners as little as once a week may increase your odds of developing asthma symptoms by 71 percent. And a 2006 study showed that people with high blood levels of the chemical 1,4…

Surf of Pearcy AR (06/13/08)
I am very unsettled by the Science Diet dry dog food. I have worked in the veterinary field for 5 years now, when my shepherd was a puppy naturally I started her on the best food I could buy and considering where I worked I thought I was doing the right thing. I noticed she produced frequent stools through out the day (even more than usual for a pup) So I switched her to Purina Puppy food and she did much better. I continued to feed that with no problem for…

Before you adopt another dog be sure the dog you already have is well-trained. Especially make sure your existing dog knows
and obeys at least the basic commands such as
Come,Sit,Stay,and is
fully potty-trained. Usually the newcomer will take the lead from the resident petkid . If the resident dog isn't well trained ,then you most likely will end up with 2 unruly dogs on your hands!
*Buy all NEW supplies for the second dog such as bedding, feeding…

One evening an old Apache woman told her daughter about a battle that goes on inside people. She said, The battle is between two 'wolves' inside us all. She said, "One is Evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."
The other is Good. It is joy, peace,…

Extensive observations have confirmed that elephants indeed remember injuries and hold grudges against their abusers. For example, one study of African elephants found that the animals react negatively to the sight and scent of clothing worn by members of a nearby Maasai tribe of people [source: BBC News]. Why the sour grapes? Maasai men spear elephants as a customary display of their masculinity.
Anecdotal evidence also…

The "horns" on a giraffe's head are called ossicones. They are made of bone incased in skin. They are connected to the skull in adults, but they lie flat in newborns to facilitate easier birth. When the giraffe is born, the ossicones are made of cartilage (the stuff that gives your nose and ears structure). Slowly this cartilage is replaced with bone, starting from…
