Gluhwein is a traditional warm drink here in Germany.

Ingredients


700 ml red wine,150 ml rum,1 pole  cinnamon,9 carnations,2 star aniseeds, 9 carnations , 1 orange , untreated,
in mouth-appropriate pieces cut ½ lemons , juice squeezed 200 ml orange juice candy.



method



Red wine and rum in a wide frying pan allow to become hot. The broth should not cook. Cinnamon stick, star aniseed which add  orange and the orange pieces. The whole approx. 20 minutes on small heat allow to move. Before serving the mulled claret with lemon juice, orange juice and candy taste. Again briefly heat up, spices and the  orange remove. Is ready more marvelous More souls-warmly for cold days.

I have made this recipe and it really is good, it warms you on a cold day. My Father came from Germany and I have many recipes from his family. Thanks for posting this I had just about forgotten about Gluhwein.

Hi Regina,here is a Recipe without Alcohol.

Ingredients

1 liter of grape juice, red, ½ liters of apple juice, 350 ml apricot juice, 175 ml currant juice,
50 ml lemon juice, some grenadine, 50 gs of blueberrys, (bilberries),
½ tablespoon of almond , hacked, ½ poles cinnamon,2-3 carnations.

All juices in a pot give, carnation and cinnamon add and on weak step heat up and 10 minutes allow to move. carnation and cinnamon remove; blueberrys and almonds add and serve.
