Please keep my Sassafras in your prayers....

My Sassafras has a very bad case of pancreatitis and needs our prayers. Cause is unknown as she does NOT get table food. She is fighting VERY hard but after 5 days still not improving. My heart is breaking for her. Her pancreas is at least 9 times larger than it should be and her tummy is very inflamed. Praying the meds start healing her soon before damage to her kidneys and liver sets in. :(

Sass seems to be improving...she is eating well with no problems so far...will know for sure when she gets another sonogram tomorrow...we won't know if she is truly out of the woods til then...thank you all sooo much for your prayers. I will post her results tomorrow after her tests. ;)

Dear Jacque,

Please keep us posted. I'm still praying and believing little Sassy will get well from this. I know it's been horribly difficult to see her so sick.

Drop me a line and let me know how your Mom is, too. We're still not sure if Diane is in remission or not, but the blood tests were much better today. =)

UPDATE 10/24...Sass did kind of ok today...the vet said he was really hoping she would be doing better than she is but she IS improving VERY slowly...I will take that as good news since she is not getting worse. ;). She will stay on her "special food" and her meds a little longer . She is still losing weight but this is one time I am glad she was a little heavy, she is losing about 2 ounces a week. She has lost 19 ounces so far. / .. \

I am glad she is at least doing better Jacque.  Sometimes the improvement isn't as quick as we would like it to be.  Will keep her in our thoughts and prayers, please let us know how she is doing.

Kathi, Jacque, I sometimes think its harder on us, I wish they could talk! I'm glad to hear the Pet food is finally made the news, after a year. I do think that her pancreatites is hereditary, it's that way for humans too.. I kept zena a bit heavy too because of her dibetites, the vets were happy she lived to 11.5... Prayers from all of us here!
