I know I am dating myself when I mention the Brady bunch but heck I am old and I do not care who knows it. When people ask me to describe the fun personalities of my girls I tell them we live with the Brady girls Marsha, Jan and Cindy aka Mali, Rani and Yuki.
Mali is very much like Marsha. First of all she is the eldest. Mali is very confident and well liked by everyone who meets her. She always carries herself with her head held high, walks with, and air of confidence. She is control of herself and often everything around her. She is a service dog, dog park sheriff, protector of the pack, Mali learned to howl when she was just a pup. She is a quick learner, Like Marsha, the straight A+ student, cheerleader, and most popular girl in school.
Rani is more like Jan in that she came second to our pack. She is a very soft girl and enjoyed being babied by Mali and every one. Belly rubs being her favorite thing still to this day giving her the family nick name of +!@#$. Whenever she thinks Mali or Yuki is getting more attention than she is, Rani will vocally complain in a loud puppy like manner, even now at 90+ pounds and to make matters worse Rani cannot howl. Not one little syllable. Just little puppy yips It was cute when she was younger, but now ~causes much eye rolling from humans~ as we hear only Mali, Mali, Mali, Mali, in her whines for attention akin to Jan Brady's whines of Marsha, Marsh, Marsh, from the Brady Bunch.
What Rani does not see is in herself is the confident she has when it comes to her training. In the show ring Rani glides around the ring as if she were floating on a cloud. Her flying trot is a wonder to behold and catches the judges eye every time. She walks with her head held high a smile on her face, and a wag of her tail for everyone she meets. It true she is not the Dog who is dominate in our pack, but who needs to be, when everyone thinks you are cute as a button and wants to just snuggle and kiss you. She is the first to notice any strange sound at night, or something new in the yard, or a butterfly that dares to land in pouncing range. I have to rescind that comment about the howling, as this morning a few days before her first birthday Rani howled for the first time. It started out as a puppy yip, but turned into a howl a real head tipped howl along with the rest of the pack. I swear she was smiling from ear to ear!
Yuki came to live with our pack last in that manner she is the youngest, though she and Rani are really the same age. In many ways she seems less mature. Like Cindy Brady she is shy and sweet. Much to Rani's horror Yuki learned to howl much earlier than she did. Yuki kind of hangs back and watches what the other two older sisters are doing to see if she really wants to take a chance of trying that too. Most often deciding she will only do something if someone else does it with her, before her, or if no one else is watching her, as she is embarrassed if she fails. Her feelings are easily hurt and she does the best ever pouty faces, the kind that melt your heart and make you want to get on the floor and hug her. She is the kinds of girl who is great at manipulating you into thinking she is just a dumb-blond and incapable of learning any new tricks, when in fact she is smart as a whip.
Yuki is huge, I mean humongous girl, but a soft and cuddly should have been a lap dog kind of girl, who chooses to keep her ears down, ~this really frustrates me~ she looks amazing with them up, and I have some pictures to prove she can put them up. This reminds me of Cindy's braces, I will try one more time to brace Yuki's ears, but I do not think it will work. I believe she has total control and I am only going to do it, as I want her to understand we want them up.
Since I types this post I have given up on Yuki's ears and will not brace them again. Sometimes she put up her right ear, and sometimes she put up her left ear, and when the wind blows just right they are both up. When three men came onto our property who were no supposed to be here she put them both up and let them know she meant business as she warned them to leave. I knew she could do it... I give up!
This is my comparison between the Brady Girls and the Madden Girls.
