It's a sad day.

I knew the day would come, but it's never easy when it does. I had to say goodbye today to my boy Max. He has been going slowly downhill for the past 4 or 5 months, and today when I got home I found him in the backyard with his hind legs sprawled out from underneath him. He was so weak he couldn't get up on his own. So about 5:10 pm I took him to the local VCA Vet office and had him put to sleep. It was the second hardest thing I've ever had to do. To sign the authorization paper reminded me of signing the same type of thing when my Mom passed. I know it was the right thing to do, but I still miss him terribly.
