Mum has wanted a hedgehog for at least 10 years and this Christmas was destined to be a real downer given a horrible family situation. I wanted to get her something that she would love. During the summer my boyfriend found a very large bark-colored female southern toad with small eyes, and gave her to me. She adjusted well with the other toads, which oddly in captivity, seem to be very social creatures. She ate well and plumped up. I received news last night of her passing. She just went to a corner by herself and peacefully went. Mum looked her over and couldn't find evidence of any illness or problems.
