I have an 8 year old Tortie female named Artemis. Artemis came to me one day as I was waiting in line to pay for gas. Some people were going to take her to a shelter, and I took her home with me instead. My lifelong companion, Tico, a 14 year old black cat, passed away in April 2009.

Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?

Tico arrived via these two nice ladies when we lived in Maine. They were rescue ladies, and gave me Tico when he was a wee baby. Artemis was a stange adoption: I was in a gas station and a man came in looking for directions to the animal shelter. He had found Artemis in the middle of a highway, nowhere near a ramp, just sitting in the median. Instead of letting her go to a shelter, I took her home.

Likes:

Artemis thinks she is human sometimes. Although it is exceedingly rare for me to feed her anything other than cat food, she will sometimes beg for a potato ship or a french fry-and never leave a bowl of pasta unattended!

Pet-Peeves:

Artemis is a typical tortie and does not like an overly affectionate owner.

Sheez, I have long been calling my cats by things like Smushy, Sweet pea, and whatever else comes to mind.

We don;t do toys. We'd rather scratch on our scratchy pads.

Pounce soft treats and Lays potato chips

We do NOT like the car! Responsible pet owners don;t take their pets out for joy rides and leave them in the car!

Artemis knows how to use the toilet!
