another option is craigslist.com. I used to look on there all the time, but I just got so depressed on how many people think that rats and other animals are not family members, just "items" (not everyone on craigslist, but a majority of them are).

But ya, having this motto is the only way I don't buy all the ratties at work and bring them home. >.< They're all so cute!

I suffer from it every time I go to work (small animal specialist for a pet store) but I always hold back because I don't believe in buying animals from pet stores anymore (they either come from small animal mills, which are just as bad as puppy/kitten mills, or their bred as feeders, which most feeders have poor genetics leading to a lot more health problems then mill animals).

The only time I have a hard time holding back my GGMR is when we have a rat up for adoption. My most current girl, Charlotte was returned to my store for the very reason that they didn't want to take the time to socialize her. She was very much on the skittish side, so I offered to foster her and socialize her. Well I fell in love and was scared that she would revert back to her skittish ways if I took her back to the store to adopt out, so i kept her. She is now the happiest rattum along with my others. :3
