Bandit is a certified Therapy Dog, who volunteers at the Veteran's Hospital, and my husband, Jack's, Service Dog for Mobility and PTSD. He's a true wonderdog, and an ambassador for Big Black Dogs in shelters.

Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?

He was an unplanned rescue, and such a wonderdog, we've written a book about him. It promotes an awareness of the Big Black Dog Syndrome, and he helped me write it, and talks in every chapter. It's "BANDIT Big Black Dog Who Stole My Heart" by Carol Bradshaw, and available at Amazon, B&N, etc. We've just completed our 2nd book, and working on #3.

Sweet, Gentle, Loving, Quiet, Spoiled, Funny, Knows they're Funny, Sensitive, Never Complains, Loyal, Regal

Likes:

Veterans, children, other animals, people, chicken treats, his toys and stuffed babies, being with us, and sharing his time with patients at the hospital. Absolutely loves hugs, anytime, anywhere. Road trips, riding in the back seat of the truck, daily walks, all his friends, and loves his Therapy and Service work.

Pet-Peeves:

Other dogs getting right in his face. He was attacked by 4 dogs at a dog park, and has been sensitive to this since. He doesn't get aggressive, just doesn't like it, and avoids the face contact thing. Doesn't like thunder or firecrackers.

Daily, one - two miles, sometimes, slow and steady, sometimes brisk, rarely running.

Favorite Ride:

Road Trips, back seat of our pick up.

My Best Pet Tricks:

He doesn't do tricks, he's a trained Therapy and Service Dog, and knows about 50 commands, but we don't have him do tricks. He's a talker, though, and says whats on his mind. So if that's considered a trick, he talks.

Favorite Music:

classis rock, mellow rock and classical.

Bandit has been sick, and has a widget to "chip in" for any donations towards his huge vet bill. We almost lost him, and he's not out of the woods yet, so although it's hard times, if you can help, it will be paid forward. Not on here to gain anything other than any help towards his vet bills. My husband is a veteran, due to medical reasons, unable to work for past year, and I've been unemployed due to his illness. Writing books is a passion, but not profitable yet. We're positive that will soon turn around.
