I am way too emotional about my fur kids. I try to be strict, but in the end the looks and the tilt of the head get me right in the heart. I cannot stand pet shops, puppy mills, backyard breeders, the abuse of any animal or living thing! I wish I had the means to adopt every dog/cat that I come across that needs a good home, and I wish I could give more to the wonderful shelters that give a home to the dogs and cats that have been abandoned; eventually they will find their forever home.

Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?

I had lost Chaz and could not bear to look for another dog. After many years of not having a pet, only my cockaties,Valkyrie came into my life. He was a gift from someone who did not know about puppy mills, I will be forever grateful for this gift. He is a wonderful dog, sweet, beautiful (to me) full of life, but very sick. He has been sick since the third month that he has been with me. The vet told me that he was so interbred that this is the reason he is having so many health issues. We take one issue at a time, and we know that he will beat the odds.

Likes:

Belly Rubs, Dried Turkey Treats (only one he can eat), going for long walks, car rides and vacations, any type of people food, but it makes him throw up, being carried, going to Lupita's Closet for his play date every Wednesday, laying next to me while watching tv, being picked up and placed on the couch (does not like to jump up), going to the doggie park.

Pet-Peeves:

Baths, being brushed, taking his medicine, after 11pm, he stares you down so you go to bed (sleeps with me uses my leg as a pillow), Do not touch his back legs!!!!
