Peanut butter Crisscrosses

Here is a favorite recipe of my girls and I..
1/2 c. sugar                                                     1 egg
1/2 c. brown sugar                                            1/2 tspn. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening                                               1 1/4 c. flour
1/2 c. peanut butter                                              1/2 tspn. salt

Cream shortening, brown sugar, sugar, egg and vanilla thoroughly. Stir in peanut butter. Add dry ingredients together. Roll into balls and press twice with fork. Bake 350 for 10 mins. Let cool before removing from cookie sheet.
