So we have served this at a few bashes and its ROCKS THE HOUSE! Its super easy, just a bit of prep required. We used Salmon as well, same recipe=INCREDIBLE!
1 package cedar planks- not from the hardware store, they need to get them for cooking.(non-treated) soak for a min of 4 hours completely imerged
Extra virgin oil oil only to cover the plank- EVOO
6 to 8 scallops larger the better but same size
juice of half a small lemon
granulated garlic 1tspn
Canadian Maple syrup- 1 cup
fresh dill weed - 2stem tops or enough to season plank.
coarse ground sea salt.
coarse ground black pepper.or white pepper optional

BBQ on med
To make basting syrup, in sauce pan combine and heat one cup of maple syrup, 1 tsp granulated garlic, juice of 1/2 a small lemon.
Take plank out of water, take EVOO drizzle on planks, then add dill weed bed for scallops to be placed on. Sprinkle with sea salt and pepper.
Place plank on grill and baste with maple syrup mixture, until scallops are no longer opaque and amber coated from syrup and smoke from cedar .
Serve with spring mixed salad, toasted pine nuts
sweet bell peppers!



Dessert let your mind wander but Blueberry cobbler is awesome
