1 boy rat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
wonderful! Have you ever considered getting him a friend? (since rats a social creatures) Or is he one of the rare loner rats who likes his space and will fight with another rat?
ive got 2 girls.. boo boo and dipsy.. boo boo is an angel but dipsy on the other hand.. haha.
yeah otis i reckon you should get him a friend so hes not lonely when your not around.
I used to have one male rat. He was so tame and well behaved that I would take him around to garage sales and other places... and he would just sit on my shoulder for hours. I really wish I had another one.
thats awesome! In my opinion it is ok to have one rat as long as he is with you a majority of the day (because they are social creatures) I knew one girl who took her rat EVERYWHERE with her, and he would just hang out in her hood. He would sleep all day in her hood and no one (including teachers) knew about him :)

However, if a rat spends most the day in a cage, a companion is the way to go. :)

Welcome to the group :3
sorry to hear about brad :( I'm glad he will have a forever home.

I love how your rats travel with you, My 2 girls, Sheila and Tex, are the only ones I can take out in public, but I don't do it to often. Luna and Peanut would be to stressed/ freaked out if I took them out into public.
Lol, Carlin is such a trouble maker. But guess if he wasn't you wouldn't have him ; )
hahaha my cats have learned to sit a least a foot away from teh cage or else the rats try to grab them through the bars.
i now have 4 boys, i got 2 about a month ago i guess then i rescued 2 from being abandoned.
well, you should have at least kept him in a separate room for quarantine so he couldn't have passed anything like URI or lice (some other parasites) but since they are in the same room already keep a close eye on the others to make sure they don't get sneezy. Sometimes rats can be sneezy because of a new environment so as long as his sneezing isn't really wet and accompanied by wheezing or clicking its probably him adjusting (but you probably knew this already >.<)

Since you kinda skipped proper quarantine, just put the the new babies cage near Raen's (as I am guessing he will be going in with him). Keep the cages next to each other (not to close don't want them grabbing each other) for maybe a week or 2 (depends how old the new guy is. is he a baby or is a teenager? adult?) If he is almost an adult I would probably try keeping the cages next to each other for2 weeks maybe longer (intros are harder when one rat is near adulthood and the other is an adult) after this period, introduce them in the bath tube.

I can't wait to see pictures! what color did you get? if you want I can give you a lil of my baytril if the sneezing worries you. But you'll have to buy your strawberry boost to mix it with. See you at work tomorrow probably :3
i guess i should add that I have decided to keep my lil foster girl, Charlotte, and will be slowly introducing her to my girls soon. :3 Now I have 5 girls ^-^
