How did you choose your pet(s) name(s)?

My girls got their names like this:  I got Arianna first.  I have loved her name for a long time!  When I saw her puppy picture, I thought that she was the most beautiful puppy I'd ever seen! So, I thought, "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl!"  She had her name before I went to see her! 

Pebbles was only 2.5lbs when we got her.  She was only 4 days younger than Arianna but about half of Arianna's weight.  Jim thought she looked like a tiny pebble, so he called her Pebbles.  She was tiny when we got her, but it wasn't long and she was taller than Arianna!

Pierrot got his name from the sad clown wearing black and white, the colours of his fur. He is a beautiful, loving clown with sad eyes.

Bentley just got his name out of nowhere, nothing to do with the car! I just wouldn't trade him for a real Bentley!!!

My dog,Hana, is named after a place on Maui that I love; very healing energy. His brother, Saba, is named after a Caribbean island with the same type of energy, which is just off the island of St Maarten. My horse, Follow Your Heart, was named that because if I didn't follow my heart his mother never would have been bred the third time. His barn name, Stormy,comes from being foaled during a thunderstorm on Mother's Day 10 years ago. All of their stories are told in my book, Tales of an Animal Communicator ~ Master Teachers. We have two dogs Harley & Katie. Harley was the largest puppy in the litter so the people called him Harley, the name fit so that is what we call him.

Katie was a puppy I happened to see on line and fell in love with her, her name was not Katie, it was a name that didn't fit her at all so I changed it but it took about a week for me to think of and find a name that fit her. Katie was a very sweet shy little girl and it came to me she reminded me of a little girl that was in my day care class, same personality and the name fit her. So now she is named Katie.

Jazzebelle (Jazzy) ....she is my rescued doggie and her name WAS Sassy so I had to come up with something that ryhmed with it because I couldn't have 2 dogs names Sassy...lol

Jazz - black russian terrier got his name when he was playing with his toys in the back yard.  He would never answer to his given name or others that I selected.  He approached after playing and I said, "You are Jazz'd", he turned his head to the word jazz'd.

Zanosa - chinese crested with hair came with the name from her Russian breeder.  It means throne in the hand.  She is far from that, as she has been a joy.

 

Ammo - the cat - was found by my previous service dog in a ply of wood.  He was given his name to follow the previous cat I had....Pistol (named by the police department he came from).

Jazz is stunning, I love black animals there so special. My zena was a calico, and passed in April 2012. Do u ever have problems with heat exhaustion? With Jazz, I look forward to seeing ur other pets welcome

My four greyhounds are issued with long racing names but not a personal name so when I get them I know almost instantly what to name them. if not I use a hat put the favorite names in it and the name I draw the most times will be the one I choose.This time there was no doubt in my mind. My new greyhound came home on the 25 of November and I had been asked if I would help find a good home for him. well when I heard what he was like I knew he would fit in with the rest of my greyhounds. I have named him Chris as he is my christmas greyhound the others are Tristan,Darcy and Collin as well as Chris. I sadly lost my whippet Mike on October 18 of this year and Chris has been with me for a month and three days love him and the others with all of my heart and soul. Ps this is Chris my new greyhound.

Hey Lisbeth. Nice to see you here. I do have a question for you. If and when you add all those favorites names of yours, do you also add the ones you had already chosen for your ones included?? If so, what if you end up with the same name used the most time ends up with one of the ones you have already chosen??? Just curious is all.................

Its only when I am in doubt as what the name should be otherwise I know instantly and that is what I go with. Up until now I have known every time.
