Friday the seventh of March was a very sad day I had to let my greyhound Darcy go to the Rainbow bridge. He went very peacefully and without pain I miss him more than Words can say. I feel him near me I know he is here it is a comfort and solice for a broken heart.I called a greyhound breeder i have known for years she breeds greyhounds for showing and as Family members these greyhounds will never go to the track they are well cared for and loved. She asked me if I would like a sixteen month old greyhound puppy without a second thought I said yes and he came home the day after I said farewell to my deeply loved Darcy. His name is Ricko he is an all White greyhound puppy his ears are dark ticked his eyes are dark Brown with Black pigmentation around them he has a spot of darkbrown or Black in the middel of his tail his nose is Black his lips are Black and he has a few freckels on his front legs also dark. He has a lovely temperament he firs in well with the other lads he is clean in the house he lets me know when he wants to go out and when he is hungry. His adult teeth are comming through but he dosen´t ruin anything other than his toys. Getting such a magnificent greyhound is to be fortunate indeed I feel that Darcy sent him my way. So that weekend was both life and death sad yet happy. Yes I miss Darcy and yes I am grieving but at the same time I feel that keeping that special bond of love going is to honour who Darcy was and is he loved life and he was a happy lad filled with funny antics and shenanigans and Ricko my new greyhound puppy is a lot like Darcy in that respect. Some might say that Ricko is a replacement but let me put that one to rest he certainly is not a replacement because no Family member can ever replace another but he is helping me to cope with the loss of Darcy and to embrace life anew time heals these Deep wounds with the love and understanding from my old greyhounds and my new one and from friends and my Family so when you Loose one of your four legged friends remember there are a lot of them out there that might just help you as Ricko is helping me. in a way he is a very Lucky greyhound as he will never know what life at the track is like he will never know abuse and mistreatment he will never lack food love or comfort he was born into a World where he is loved and cared for from day one and the rest of his long and very happy life.

I am so sorry to hear about Darcy's passing. I can tell how much you loved him from your words. How wonderful that he is still looking out for your and sent a new family member your way!!! Give that beautiful new pup of yours a big hug from all of us, and bring him around to show him off as soon as he is ready!
Thanks Geordie I will.
Thought you should see a more clear image of my new greyhound puppy Ricko he is seven months old now almost eight months and he is a big lad still as lovely as when he came home four months old. He was also at his very first show ever and this is what happend. We went to a huge international show in Roskilde everything seemed to fall into place that day. Ricko was full of curiosity everything was new and exiting. We walked around for a bit talked to friends and just had a good time I met my dear friend and it was time to get ready for the show our time in the ring. Well it simply coulden´t have been better Ricko became best puppy of his breed and was to be part of Best in Show. So I enjoyd some sandwiches and a bit of tea. Relaxing as much as possibel. Then it was time for our second time in the ring dogs everywhere some were rejected this time around but Ricko and some other were chosen to show in the big ring for Best In Show. So we went in for the third time that day. Ricko diden´t place but to have been part of it was a grand experience and I am very proud of my youngest greyhound. There will be a lot of shows for him in the future and lots of experiences to be shared. Point of fact Ricko came home and is here to stay just as my other lads are and have been. Living with greyhounds is the stuff of dreams mine has come true thanks to my four lads.Tristan,Chris,Collin and finally Ricko.
Ricko is beautiful! I am so happy that you had a magical day at the dog show. Perhaps next time he will bring home a ribbon to show off!
Thank you make no mistake he did bring home a rosette and a riband remember he was best åuppy of breed and he was on to Best in Show.
