 HAVE YOU HEARD OF .....THE    PDSA {Peoples Dispensary For Sick Animals]

 

this is a charity run animal hospital, they basically rely on donations from the people that take their pets there to have them looked over by vets  they deal with over 5oo patients everyday,

 

the treatment as expected can be very costly. they perform operations, they spade/neuter supply if needed repeat prescriptions etc etc, my mum has her dog sammi as a patient at the pdsa he was diagnosed 3 yrs ago with canine diabetes and he has to vist the animal hospital every month for his blood to be checked and to collect needles and insulin. my mum is a widow and a pensioner so money is a little tight  but everytime she visits the hospital she will donate between £15 -£20   to help  for he treatment given to sammi, there are people who turn up in posh cars  with pedigree dogs  and when asked if they would like to donate a small amount  they reply with the excuse .......Quote ill give next time  i visit  i got no change, Un Quote   and the same people  say the same thing on every visit,

there isnt a set amount that you must donate infact  you are only asked if you would like to donate

i think its so selfish to refuse every penny counts to this wonderful charity a £1  from every person would make such a difference and yet  a majority make an excuse not to pay anything, my feeling about this is if they were to take there pets to a vet surgery theyd have to pay there and it would be a lot bigger amount than a small donation, it just seems to me as if they are abusing this wonderful caring animal charity as if they feel they have the right to have their pet treated with no responsibility from them  by that i mean   surely if you are going to have a pet you should realise that your pet will  cost you a lot of money over his lifetime  for his food,is health , etc  its so disheartening when people take the kindness and goodwill  of a loving caring animalcharity for granted, if my mom can find a couple of £s each month out of her pension to donate im sure these other people can , personally i just think theyre abusing  and taking advantage of  this great animal charity   , id love to hear your views of what you think , Do you have something similar in your area ?

We do have something which is a bit like that namely if you happen to have a very low income you can get your vet bill covered or almost all of it but if you have more than the said income you can´t even apply. Which stops the riff raff from taking advantage of such a worthy charity. People with cars and expensive purebreds can find vet help elsewhere goodness knows they can afford to unlike your mother who has the heart in the right place.I suppose when you set up a system like that it should be understood that it is for people with low incomes not for well heeled people with more than enough money. I agree it is sad when individuals like that take advantage of such a charity.

its a shame but it happens everyday in any given country. where there is money there are scammers, theives and the riff raft of society. it also happens with programs for humans.your mom has a heart of gold and i commend her but being on a fixed income she should be very careful . use your head and not your heart
