compassion or common sense

we all know abusers have character defects big time, here are 2 that they lack,. my question is at least having 1 of these which one would be the one the abuser would need to stop abuse?

Oh Don thank u so much,, those are very kind wordss.. I think thats just common sense, they contribute to our history and to ignore the elderly is a crime, i learn that 20 years ago in and out of hospital and met, incredible human beings at the end of their lives and it really touched me to see wonderful people that are so interesting and actually alone, so sad. My husband would come up and see me and there would be an 80 year old that can;t see or hear, but brite as a button, but couldn;t eat, because she couldn;t see the food, her daughter was not bringing her glasses, finally on the 5th day, let just say i sprinkled a little common sense and said :bring her glasses and hearing aid in, but my husband fed that lady every night when he would care for me.. extraordinarily compassionate, my hero.. so my rule if we have an elder in the neighbor hood i am going to make sure, to watch out and take some food, spread some sugar around lol and listen.. they earned it.. we have no kids, exept fur kids rule off to crash i am beat ttyt xo ww

It was a very diffrent time back then more innocent in a sense. If we show compassion and kindness where ever we happen to be greet our neighbours and just be kind to them things take on a diffrent hue. We feel better too more at home and happier because our neighbours knows who we are and what we stand for. Personally it means a huge diffrence. I moved to a bigger flat in 2008 and if there is one thing I can say it is that I have come home. I never felt the same way in my old neighbourhood I suppose I have transformed as I moved and I apriciate the friends and neighbours I am fortunate enough to have around me. So I love you both and the great uncel and father behind you both as it has made you the most compassionate people I have the honour of knowing the same goes for kathi now she is a good friend too. love you all Lisbeth and the lads.

i love talking to the elderly. its like talking to children who are big for their age.lol wanda thats a sad story about your father. its sad that the pain was caused by a drunk driver. its one of the most selfish things a person can do. i have driven drunk before so i am no different. but i very rarely even have a beer anymore,i grew up quite a bit.i hope your dad is proud of you and he is resting in peace

Don and Lisbeth, thank you both.. my dad is my little angel on my shoulder, saying i love you, the hardest part was walking down the isle with out him. I don;t drive, got chauffeur lol just kidding. But i am sure many people have driven when they shouldn;t, but i don;t allow it.. if i have a party, i spoil the designated driver, they get some home baking and some extra love lol, maybe a back rub!! I know what you mean Don, i love the elderly and its because of my grand-parents, i mean they lived a tough life, no indoor plumbing, fire place for heat, no washing machines, or dryers, and had to can and grow all their food and while grand-ma was a little bitter, i loved her and understood, now that they are gone, they were married 66 years and passed away 2 days apart, i love them more and respect them and because of that, i spread some love around and compassion it is the greatest gift you can give anyone.. thanks for the love you both.. great topic Don!
