Sal:
Do you keep a dove the same as you would a parrott or other bird?

Thank you, Kathi. And credit really goes to the person who took that picture and moreover the person who bred such beautiful colors on this bird; my kudos to them.

Not sure what you mean by that question. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're asking whether doves can be kept indoors in a cage; the answer, to put it simply, is: it depends on the species of dove. The two most-commonly kept doves, ringnecks and diamonds, can be kept indoors and have historically done well as caged pets. There are two types of doves, the seed-eating ones (category which ringnecks and diamonds fall into) and fruit-eating ones. Fruit-eating doves are really not suited as house pets because their habitat needs are so specific, they would have to be replicated close to, if not exactly as, the one they are part of in the wild in order for these types of doves to remain healthy in captivity. This is all, of course, very general information; and if you have anything more specific, be sure to let me know.

That is what I was asking Sal. I didn't know that only certain species of doves could be kept inside. Thank you for answering my question.
