How old can a cat live to be?

I have heard about a cat in Sweden who was 36 years old. But that is very unusual I think.
My cat Måns, European shorthair, died when he was 18 years. I think 15-20 years are normal.

Hi Pula cats can live as old as eighteen i have one of fifteen years and hes doing just fine

Cats live longer than dogs, probaly because they purr (which scientificaly proven to increase a cats life and health).

 

I think the average is 15 years, the max is 35 years. Any longer and that cat cant walk, or eat properly.  :)

The oldest cat is Lucy,a 35 year old cat:)And she still goes on pretty well.

In my hometown,Norfolk,we used to have a roaming cat which lived a long long time,about 22 years or so.

But it depends on the cat
