Top Toolbar Slowing Down Site?

I'm having a terrible experience on the site. And thinking it's the top toolbar, which I love - - but appears it is bringing to site to a halt. Suzie had reported that some members had written her about this issue. I apologize profusely for just getting to this, but each time I checked the site it seemed fine until tonight.

I would like to move forward and remove the toolbar, which means we lose the IM.
1. Are you all okay with that move?
2. Do you agree that it is the toolbar that is probably causing issues?

I really feel this is the main culprit to bad site performance, and hate to think that you're all experiencing the same that I am.

CHAT ROOM PREFERENCE:
Also, while I have your attention - - over the years I have tried every Chat box known to man, LOL. Do you have a preference? Are you happy with the built-in Chat in bottom toolbar? Would you like something else installed? We still have some chat boxes floating around this site. They probably need to be removed, after we all decide the best overall.

Best to you all - - so HAPPY to see Pet Lover's Paradise folks, and forgive me for being scarce. It hasn't been by choice. BTW, working on a new look to marry all of us Pet Loving PB and PLP friends!

Suzie, Mandy and Everyone,
I'm honestly ashamed of myself for NOT bringing in a huge welcome to you all. I kept thinking I could get this fancy welcome done and post it. And it just hasn't happened yet. Please forgive me for not doing this yet.

Suzie, just so not to shock anyone too bad, I'll wait about 1 hour, then the top toolbar is saying bye bye. ;-) Another reason I hadn't removed it when you asked last week, I have to change the header and remove the IM icon. I was hoping I would be able to install the new look at the same time, but my plans didn't quite work out that way. =)

P.S. PetBrags members are used to me being called Bragger, and have never known my real name, LOL! It's a long and actually a fun story. I plan on introducing the real name very soon. My close friends and most of PLP members already know it. All in fun!!!

Hey girls, what ever works for you all, i have had no problems but the chat rooms i don't seem to get anyone..

IMHO the site runs a LOT smoother now with the topbar poofed :) BTW, the reason you may only see a few members in chat when there are more online is that some members may set their chat to "offline" :)

it all seems to work well for me but thats me I don't use IE which I think slows everything down anyhow. But I too agree scheduled chats should and would work well like b4 ( LOL Mandy you can remind me when chats are since well you know I'm forgetful) therefore yes eliminate all other chats to avoid confusion also
No worries on the big hoopla welcome Life is crazy and we just dont have enough hours in the day to do everything need to or want to so no worries from me.
