A message from Michael

As sickness and death of our dear friend Regina touched our lives during the month of April and May we have had to lean on each other for support. The passing of Regina will leave a empty place in all our hearts and our weekly chat sessions will not be the same.

They say time heals but I think it will take a very long time for us to be healed from this sudden loss of a wonderful life. We must keep our faith and to share the passions that Regina had. I know Regina would not want us to grieve but to rejoice and keep the site going strong by sharing and educating each other about animal rights and animal welfare. So let's band together and unite as one.

In closing I would like to thank Peggy for purchasing and to Regina's family.

Also,

I would like to thank Kathi for her labor in keeping us all informed through Regina's sister.

As all members had a special part in sending prayers and supporting each other Peggy and Kathi stood strong for all of us.

It is my wish that all who reads this newsletter will have a moment where they will remember the good times they encountered while having Regina as a loyal and dedicated member of the Critters Corner Family Social Network.

Our dear friend Regina went home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2013 after a being hospitalized in late April. Regina was a very active member within the Critters Corner Family Social Network. She served on the Team Staff as a Administrator as well as Event Coordinator. Even though Regina was dedicated to everyone on the Critters Corner she was also dedicated on many other social networks.

If Tears Could Build A Stairway

If tears could build a stairway
and thoughts a memory lane
I'd walk right up to heaven
and bring you home again.

No Farewell words were spoken
No time to say good-bye
You were gone before I knew it
And only God knows why.

My heart's still active in sadness
And secret tears still flow
What it meant to lose you
No one can ever know.

But now I know you want us
To mourn for you no more
To remember all the happy times
Life still has much in store.

Since you'll never be forgotten
I pledge to you today
A hallowed place within my heart
Is where you'll always stay.

Not to have been part of your life was there ever a doubt.

We know we will see you again, just didn’t know when.
A short time has passed,

We have been wondering how you have been.

Just to see your face one last time is something we

never would have thought,

You have been on our minds all this time, something that we had

always and never forgot.

The lessons that we learned from you, made each day more pleasant,

Your teachings of everyday life were such a warm and needed present.

We leave you now knowing you are safe in his arms,

No more pain or suffering, away from all harm.

Rest with the angels, until we all see you once more.

Watch over us now, for one day it will come.

When we are laughing and talking and having oh so much fun again.

We miss you Regina, but we are glad that you made it home.

We wouldn’t have wanted it any other way even

if it meant for us to be alone.

I met and quickly became friends with Regina while being a member on the ASPCA social network years ago. I was very impressed with Regina's big heart when it came to not only people but animals as well. She was a grand supporter of animal rights and animal welfare.

As I was one of the first members to leave the ASPCA to build my own social network I was lucky to have some great people help me out in the management of my social network. We had a rocky road at first but with dedicated members such as Regina we managed to draw in good quality members that truly cared for each other.

Regina served on my Management Team for many years in many different management rolls. Everyone respected Regina and I found myself relying on her skills to keep everyone up to date on current events as well as future events.

I will always cherish the good times we had between us and the time I got to spend with her when she visited Tennessee.

Regina touched many lives and all those lives she touched was made better.

I guess Regina is now singing with the Angels. And I know she will be greatly missed by all.

Love you Regina and rest in peace my dear friend.

I never got to meet Regina in person, but one time I had mentioned I was having trouble navigating around the site. Regina called me and told me what to do and with her help we got everything straightened out.

Regina was usually the first member in chat waiting for the rest of us to log in. I've heard many times how she helped other members having problems and she helped them same as she had helped me.

Regina was a true animal lover as she wrote many blogs about them.

I am really glad I got to know such a great lady.

May God be blessing her now for being one.

Love you Regina, Momma Doris.

I got to meet Regina in Tennessee which was a fun time. She could give a joke as well as take a joke. Laughter was all around.

The one thing that happened was when Regina, Roberta, and Terri where sitting on the couch with Toby the dog. Toby passed gas and the look on their faces was priceless.

Regina you are sorely missed but I take comfort in knowing you are not suffering anymore.

Will love you always Regina, till we meet again,

I would like Regina's family to know that Regina was a lovely person, full of caring energy and compassion.

Love Don [Ducky]

I met Regina on the ASPCA site several years ago.

We both followed Michael to Critter Corners and became good friends.

I had the honor of meeting Regina in person at our Critter Corner meet in Tennessee. I learned so much about her. In the evenings she would come and sit on my bed in our jammies and we would talk, tell stories, share our life history.

We had many great talks, laughs, fun dancing together at the Luau, stuffing our faces with all the great food, and learning how

we all have such love of animals especially when we all fed and took care of the little kitty that came into our camp.

I discovered that Regina was an amazing, wonderful, kind, thoughtful, caring and generous person who loved life, people and animals. I am so glad I had to the chance to meet this fabulous lady, really get to know her and be honored to call her friend as she called me

Her friend too. She will be greatly missed!

I love you Regina, and send warm loving hugs your way.

I met Regina as soon as I joined the Critters Corner Group and through her many posts and messages to me.

I knew her all this time and for her great work in doing with the Critters Corner Group and until the day she peacefully passed away.

All in all I was glad to know her even we had our ups and downs. I now respect her for this and all she has done for us there. Was most impressed by seeing many photos on the Critters Corner Group meet in Tennessee and last but not least for her numerous photos sent to me in my inbox along with her messages as well as my requests of putting the animal photos she sent me onto my page there at the Critters Corner Group.

Regina you will be much missed through your many talents and work here on Critters Corner as well as the numerous funny animal photos sent to me and posted onto my page.

Even though I do not get on the site much, I do help my husband Michael care for the site as does the member's of the Management Team. Through the years I have spoken with Regina via the phone when management issues with the site arose or she called the house to talk to Michael.

Regina was always nice and had good things to say about everyone. I do know she loved being part of the Critters Corner Family and took her roll as a member very serious.

I was privileged to meet Regina at our member meet held in Tennessee. She was such a fun person to be around and was full of jokes and laughter. I know everyone will miss her and the Critters Corner Family will just not be the same without her.

I've known Regina for years as I met her on the Ning sites. We were on all the animal sites , think ASPCA or Romania site that we met! Just loved her honesty openness, fun and humor, and over all love for all animals, she was such a dear friend , even though I never had the honor of meeting her personally , knew she was a friend ! tearing up again writing this , still can't believe she's gone.. But she is with her fur angels and in Gods hands and very loved! and with her mom.

Always loved how Reggie was a warrior for all animals! helped stray cats , remember her telling me about that, she is such a special soul and will be greatly missed, peace be with you Regina

Love and miss you

Kathi

I knew Regina for a few years on Pet Brag’s and then on Critters Corner. “Reggie” as I called her was a very special and kind person, she was always upbeat no matter how difficult life was for her, always with a positive attitude, loving and kind and lot’s of fun. On Critters Corner she was picked on saying “it is Regina’s fault”, of course Michael and Don did most of that, she always took it in good fun and never got offended by it.

Although I never met Reggie in person I spoke to her on the phone and all of her upbeat personality came through in the conversations. When you are sick or in pain it is extremely difficult to stay pleasant and kind, well she was the epitome of kindness and love. Reggie’s love for animals was without question one of her strongest beliefs that they should be loved and cared for and she showed that in everything she did.

I will miss you so much Reggie but I know you are at peace and with all those you loved, family, friends and pets. This is not a goodbye it is “I will see you one day and we will finally celebrate knowing each other.

Much love to you my dearest friend.

Kathi

I met Regina at least 7 years ago. We were on many sites together and helped each other with many projects. We talked on the phone often and Regina's passion for both people and animals ran high. She was event coordinator, adm. on many sites.
As busy as she was, she always found time to post and sign petitions for both domestic and wild animals. Regina touched the heart of so many people and will be missed by everyone she has met.
Though the years our friendship had blossomed into something so beautiful and comforting, I just can not imagine my life without her , but she gave me memories of fun, laughter, love, support and friendship that will always be cherished and remembered.
The highlight for me was meeting Regina in person at Sept 2011 Critters Corner Meet and spending 10 days with her and other members of our site. I don't even have words to express that feeling. Regina is one amazing lady, the most loving, sweetest friend one could ask for.
She will forever hold a very special place in my heart.

I met Regina Dickerson on PLP, approx 8 years ago. We became tag team Administrators on Both Petlovers Paradise and then on Petbrags.
Regina and I worked fiercely together on Facebook, fighting for animal and Human rights. In 2012 we were elated when we had made instrumental change in the " bile bears of Asia" allowing these gentle creatures to feel grass beneath their feet for the first time ever.
Despite having a very difficult year, Regina was always there to offer unconditional love to every member of our community.
She was instrumental in Running our Events on Petbrags and her "shoes" can never be filled. I will miss you Regina, thank you for being our friend, and for being a VOICE for the voiceless..
Much love Wanda P Steeves. / Lelo, PBP Admin.

My first interaction with Regina was via the telephone when she would call our home to talk to my dad, Michael. She and I became close friends and even closer when I got older and joined the Critters Corner site.

When I had young growing pains Regina was always willing to give me adult advice. One of the reasons I have grown socially is because of Regina and the special talks we shared.

I got the opportunity to meet Regina in person at our member meet held in Tennessee a few years ago. I remember how much fun she was at our Luau and what a dancing queen she was to be so tall. One of the most warmest things I ever witnessed of Regina was her love of animals.

A stray kitten came up to us at the member meet and even though everyone else held and cuddled the kitten, Regina was most taken in by the little kitten. I am sad that Regina is no longer with us but happy that she is not in any pain and now with all her fur-babies that has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.

Regina, if you can hear this just remember even though you have gone to Heaven we all still feel your presence here on the Critters Corner site.

Love and miss you, Payton

I never really thought that I'd spend as much time in airports as I do. I don't know why. I always wanted to be famous and that would mean lots of travel. But I'm not famous, yet I do see more than my share of airports.

I love them and I hate them. I love them because of the people I get to watch. But they are also the same reason why I hate airports. It all comes down to "hello" and "goodbye."I must have mentioned this a few times while writing my stories for you.

I have great difficulties with saying goodbye. Even as I write this I am experiencing that pounding sensation in my heart. If I am watching such a scene in a movie I am affected so much that I need to sit up and take a few deep breaths. So when faced with a challenge in my life I have been known to go to our local airport and watch people say goodbye. I figure nothing that is happening to me at the time could be as bad as having to say goodbye.

Watching people cling to each other, crying, and holding each other in that last embrace makes me appreciate what I have even more. Seeing them finally pull apart, extending their arms until the tips of their fingers are the last to let go, is an image that stays forefront in my mind throughout the day.

On one of my recent business trips, when I arrived at the counter to check in, the woman said, "How are you today?" I replied, "I am missing my wife already and I haven't even said goodbye."

She then looked at my ticket and began to ask, "How long will you...Oh, my God. You will only be gone three days!" We all laughed. My problem was I still had to say goodbye.

But I learn from goodbye moments, too.

Recently I overheard a father and daughter in their last moments together. They had announced her departure and standing near the security gate, they hugged and he said, "I love you. I wish you enough." She in turn said, "Daddy, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Daddy."

They kissed and she left. He walked over toward the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say goodbye to someone knowing it would be forever?"

"Yes, I have," I replied. Saying that brought back memories I had of expressing my love and appreciation for all my Dad had done for me.

Recognizing that his days were limited, I took the time to tell him face to face how much he meant to me.

So I knew what this man experiencing.

"Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever goodbye?" I asked.

"I am old and she lives much too far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is, the next trip back would be for my funeral," he said.

"When you were saying goodbye I heard you say, "I wish you enough."

May I ask what that means?"

He began to smile. "That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone." He paused for a moment and looking up as if trying to remember it in detail, he smiled even more."When we said 'I wish you enough,' we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them," he continued and then turning toward me he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory.

I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life

appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Goodbye."

He then began to sob and walked away.

My friends, I wish you enough!
