Hi there.

I stumbled upon PetBrags while investigating an episode I had with my Roti and thought I'd make the effort to join up, have some fun and share my recent experience.

I've been attending puppy training classes and the dog (Treacle) is coming on just fine. During one of the recent classes there was a mention of toxic foods for you pets and to
have extra vigilance at this time of year especially when there are nuts, raisins
and Christmas pudding about.

A few weeks ago I had let the dog into the garden and I'm not 100% if it was her or a squirrel that managed to knock the bird feeder (which was full of nuts) off of the bird
table. On impact it broke open and the nuts went everywhere. I was oblivious to
this until letting her in and got in a slight panic as there were hardly any
nuts left. With the recent mention of nuts in the Puppy training class I jumped
on the internet and did some research,

Rather than panicking, I decided to keep a very close eye on her in case she was to get sick but all was well thankfully. This could have been due to this particular
type of nut not being toxic or the size of dog vs. nuts consumed. Either way
she was fine and the remaining nuts showed the following day!

I think my point of this post is really to bring to everyone's attention the potential hazard a bird feeder could have in the garden. Heavens, I would never have thought my
puppy would be jumping up at a bird feeder, perhaps my veggie patch which is
another huge liability with growing onions on the plot!

All the best,

Michael

Oh yes, I was very relieved. The bird nut feeder is now very high in the tree :)
