Make your pooch an artist!

This lovely holiday weekend, Kyra and I were visiting my mom, and we decided to make Kyra an artist by doing paw print painting. It was so much fun and the memories will last just as long as the paintings will! I would advise anyone who wants to try this to make sure your dog is good and tired first, otherwise you will have quite a mess on your hands! Kyra is pretty lazy anyway and kept laying on the paint, so that was also a mess!

We used tempra paint, which is non-toxic and washable with soap and water (I used her shampoo since she has allergies). For the board we used canvas board (not actual canvas since their paws can just go through the canvas sheet). I put the paint I wanted to use (going lightest to darkest) on a paper plate, put Kyra's paw on it, and moved her around by motivating her with a treat!

This was of course done outside. After we were done I put her in her puppy pool. She is too big to lift in through the house, so this was the only option but it was hot outside anyway. If you can lift your pup through the house, I would assume that would be easier. The paint came off so easily, and there was no stains at all! I would definitely recommend this activity to anyone! It is such a fun bonding experience for everyone involved and you will always have the painting! 

If I could change one thing after it was all done, I would have painted a back ground first before doing the paw prints. Just so it looked for colorful.
