Well, my Angel baby is 6 months old today. This picture was taken on
Oct. 17...she was recovering from being spayed. She just wanted to play
play play...she was so bummed that she couldn't.
As always her doctors were great with her...they all love her very much
at the vets office. They all had something funny to say about
her...some way that she made them smile while she was there.
I never got to tell you about her last visit there when she got the last in the series of shots for the year.
Well, they were all so happy to see her, and of course , she was happy
to see them. The girls there were holding her and just loving her. I
asked them if they wouldn't mind cutting her nails and trimming some of
the hair around her eyes. Well, they cut her nails in front of me and
she was fine with that. When Doc came in he took her, (like he did the
last time when he did this), in the back to shave some of the hair away
from her eyes. So i sat in the exam room listening to the other dogs
barking and such. When all of a sudden i hear this loud screaching
noise...I kept thinking, what is that, do they have a bird back there
or something. It went on for just a few minutes...then I hear foot
steps walking towards the exam room and at that moment i thought...that
noise wasn't Angel was it? So Doc walks in with Angel in his arms, I
look at him , he looks at me, and I said, was that Angel making that
noise? He looked at me feeling embarrassed (not sure why..but they are
too sweet), and said yes. I was like...WHAT?? Why would she make such a
noise? He proceeded to tell me that when he took the clippers out that
he used on her last time, (and there was no trouble) he put them by her
face and turned them on, like he did last time, so she could hear it
before he used them. She was quiet all the way up until he started
using them. He said that she was not wanting that done at all. Mind
you...they did not hurt her at all...she just was not in the mood for
that that day. So I looked at him and said, that was soooooooooooo loud
to me, I can only imagine how loud that was for you...is your hearing
okay?? LOL!! We laughed. Anyway, he gave her her shots and she did not
make a peep..they did not bother her at all.
So, I took her out in the lobby where he was going to meet us before we
left. He came out, came out to the front of the desk, held her, played
with her...put her on the floor so he could have fun with her...all to
make her comfortable being there. Its just amazing to me how much they
go out of their way to make her, (and all of their clients) feel happy
and comfortable being there. He knew that it was stressful for her (the
clippers, not the shots..LOL), and he wanted to make her feel
better..and he did. She was wagging her tail in seconds...and of course
he went and got her a treat. I am so thankful that I have them as her
doctors...they are wonderful. So that was that.
She is doing great..she loves going for walks, loves everybody, loves
to give hugs and kisses, enjoys her toys, loves going to see my mom and
Angel is sooooooooooooo determined to get Destiny to play with her one
of these days. I don't think she will ever give up trying.
I have to say that in Angel I see a piece (or more than one) of every
baby that I have had over the past 20 years...no joke. Its a daily
thing...I am not talking little things, I am talking about things that
really stood out to me in each one of my babies...I SEE THEM IN ANGEL.
One example...I see Brandi in her a lot...how happy she is, the way
that she likes to rest her chin on my face when I am laying in
bed...Brandi did that to me all of her life. (she was the only one) The
way that she finds joy in every little thing every day...its just
amazing to me.
Well, that is it for now. I hope that you enjoyed reading this. Hugs to all of you!! ~Laura~
