Each of our boys came to us in a unique way.
My husband and I had wanted another dog for a long time and I told
God that it would be easy for Him to bring one to the door.

And...well...one day...
One of our boys was found pacing up and down the intersection where we lived.
My husband had gone outside at a time of day that was not even normal for us.
He recruited help and we lured him in with a bite of chicken.
No collar, or microchip found so we placed ads, received many calls from
families of missing pets, yet he did not belong to them.

Our other dog was found on Craigslist. A special family needed to find a new home for him and so...
we met and brought him home that same night. We are still in touch with his
former family [open adoption:] and we are all so grateful for our boy.

Our kitty was given to us by special friends who had to move into an apartment and could not keep their cat family.
We found a home for one of their boys and kept Buttons.
So, I guess we have two open adoption situations...
We say all the time how much we love our little family. They bring so much joy to our lives.

Even if of the same breed, I am amazed at how each animal is unique.
They have their own little personality and quirks and wonderful things!
We have had 4 rats as well and each one was different.
Sox, our first, had the most personality and he was as loving and teachable as a dog. I love it.

That's great that you have adopted animals. Titan, my German Shepherd is also adopted. I got him through a Florida rescue and it was a wonderful experience. Titan has already returned a lot to me and we haven't even been under the same roof for a year yet. He's a great dog and loves everyone and everything... never met a stranger which is odd for his breed. I encourage people to adopt whenever the opportunity presents itself because it saves animal lives.
