Adding Background Images to Your Profile Page

Warning: Do not copy/paste MySpace Themes to your Page Settings/Advanced Tab. This is why. Although it will usually pick up the MySpace background, it can completely lock up your page on PetBrags, due to the styles that are not compatible with our site.

Here are the instructions for adding a background to your pages.

Step #1 Getting Started

1. Go to My Profile/Page (your page)
2. Click on Edit Profile Appearance
2a. Under Theme Settings - You can add any image that is a jpg, gif or png file, to use as your background in three places: Header, Middle and Feature Boxes.

Tip: #1 Images must be on your computer for upload. You can save any image (copyright free) to your hard drive, by right-clicking on image and SAVE AS to your Documents Folder on your computer.

Tip: #2 You can also go to a page where you like the main background. Right-click, and Save Background As. Make sure you notice which folder on your computer the file is being saved to - - usually My Pictures comes up automatically, for this Save command. Then you can use that background file for your Page Middle Background on PetBrags.

Step #2 Adding Background Images to your Page

To Add a Header & Navigation / Background (top of your page)
1. Next to the word "Background", there are 2 small rectangular boxes. Click on image icon on the right box.
2. Find image on your computer, browse and upload
Tip: Make sure you click on Tile, for small images, and for repeating image throughout the header background.
3. Click on Done

To Add a Page/Middle Background (this is your main page background)
1. Next to the word "Background", there are 2 small rectangular boxes. Click on image icon on the right box.
2. Find image on your computer, browse and upload
Tip: Make sure you click on Tile, for small images, and for repeating image throughout the background.
3. Click on Done

To Add a Feature Box Background (really better to make this white or solid)
1. Next to the word "Background", there are 2 small rectangular boxes. Click on image icon on the right box.
2. Find image on your computer, browse and upload
Tip: Make sure you click on Tile, for small images, and for repeating image throughout the feature box background. This is probably not the best place to use Tile. We will add instructions on how to make this background transparent/see-through. This will take special lines of code under ADVANCED TAB. Watch for this blog to be updated.
3. Click on Done

Last Step: Make SURE you click on SAVE at bottom of Theme Settings. Or you will lose what you just did.

VERY COOL TIP:
First, edit Profile Appearance. At the top, "Choose A Theme For Your Page". After you select your theme from the list, click on SAVE. Go back and edit Profile Appearance again. NOW, change your Page/Middle Background to your choice of images, following instructions above. Be sure to Click on SAVE. You can really come up with some nice page themes doing it this way.
