Chatango Chat BOX Instructions and Links

This is a friendly reminder. PetBrags is RATED PG. We reserve the right to ban anyone from anywhere on our site, for any reason. We also reserve the right to moderate, warn or ban any member for any conduct or content that we may determine (at our sole discretion) to be abusive, vulgar, racist, or otherwise unacceptable. Here are some "sure fire" ways to get banned. If you are rude, crude, obnoxious, become a nuisance to other members, threatening, or EVEN disrespectful to others while chatting, your account will be BANNED, with no warning. Once BANNED, there is NO going back. Disclaimer: ALL chat logs are read DAILY. However, we make no guarantees to you that we will catch everything that could be deemed inappropriate. Although, we will always put forth great efforts to keep PetBrags a kid friendly and family oriented site. If something inappropriate is inadvertently missed, please report this as abuse. You shall remain solely responsible for any content you enter, anywhere on this site. NOTE: If you have ONLY been banned from the Adult/VIP Chat Box (due to age) and not all of PetBrags, try the CHAT TAB for another room. Same RULES apply.

Chatango Boxes: Chatango is a 3rd party chat box. The Adult/VIP chat box is located as a pop-up link in the right-hand column, at top. The other Chatango Boxes are accessible from the main CHAT TAB. We use Chatango for several reasons. The main reason is: you can chat with your friends on PetBrags, even if the site is down for routine maintenance, or any unknown issues. Always keep the Chat Box URL handy, in the event that we are offline.

Chatango Chat Box Membership: (free) Chatango is a 3rd party chat box. You can create a Chatango username by clicking on “Set Your Name“. When you create your username account, you will have the ability to upload a profile pic. After you have your account set up, make sure you edit your Chatango Profile Settings to prevent strangers from all over the Internet from seeing your name.

Access your Profile Settings: (keep strangers out) Either click on your Chatango member icon, or access your Chatango account page URL (http://username.chatango.com/). From your account page, click on Edit Profile (this does not work sometimes), or click on Settings TAB on the right-hand side of page.
Uncheck “Show my profile in user directory”
Note: This will give you better protection from strangers trying to engage you in chat, outside of PetBrags.

Status Button Installation: (special field for Chat Status in your profile questions) After you have created a permanent Chatango username, go to this link and retrieve your status indicator code. There are several buttons available.

We have created a new field in your profile questions for your Chat Indicator button. It is the first field in the list. Go to your page. Edit your Profile Answers, and add your Status Indicator button code to the field answer. Now your friends can see if you are online (signed into Chatango), and can engage you in a private chat from your Profile page.
