We adopted Callie Melia in March. She is a Calico. Predominately white with huge black and orange markings. She looks as if she got into the paint.

Frankie, My Russian Blue cat passed away after a 2 year battle with Kidney disease. He was 14 yrs.
April 1996 to January 2010

Callie says that she is happy that I brought her home and she agrees that she is our Diva Princess.
She is a city cat by birth but has adjusted to country life.

Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?

After I lost my Frankie I was missing a cuddle buddie. I made a visit to our Human Society looking for a forever friend.
I was looking for a kitten about 3 months old. I happened to walk past Callie's room and she ran to the window and looked at me. I couldn't resist her and I went in and picked her up. She snuggled and began giving me little kisses. I adopted her on the spot. She was still technically a kitten but she turned one year old a month after I adopted her. My Vet told me that my Frankie would send me a new forever friend when he felt the time was right. I guess my Vet was right.

Likes:

Callie likes to drink water directly from the tap and she likes to great me at the door when I get home from work. She seems to know exactly when I will arrive home.

Pet-Peeves:

Callie hates thunder storms and very loud noises.

Nicknames / And by Whom:

My husband calls Callie "KerPlunk". She will run to where ever we are in the house and just drop herself down with a kerplunk sound. It is quite funny.

My Favorite Toys:

Callie has a bed full of toys but she likes to gather my pony tail holders and tuck them away in her toy bed.

She loves her activity center; she can play, trim her claws, and rest all in the same area. Loads of fun.

My Favorite Treats:

Callie loves Cat Nip.
