Sweet and spoiled! Demi and Daphne are sisters, who rule the roost. They were the 1st to arrive in the household. They are Bichons, who were born at a friend's house. Daphne lost a front leg, when she was 5 years old, as she ran out the door and crossed the street to greet the neighbor's dog, and got hit by a minivan. She became a Pet Assisted Therapy dog, after recovering, and loves visiting kids & adultsin hospitals and nursing homes, and being read to by kids in the schools. Demi loves going out to the shops and being made a fuss over.
Leo was a rescue, who had been living on the streets. He is a bichon. He was a growly boy when he arrived, and still does growl when hugged, but it is all talk, and no action. He loves to be on top of a lap, or cuddled as close as possible to his human!
Willow is a Shih Tzu-Bichon mix, who's momma I was fostering during the last part of her pregnancy. I just had to keep Willow!! Her momma lives with a good friend. Willow became a Pet Assisted Therapy dog, because she is so sweet, and loves people.
Phoebe is an old Maltese, who I rescued out of Animal Control when she was 10 years old, and about to be Euthanized. She had been dumped by her owners because she has Congestive Heart Failure. She has had almost 4 good years with me, now, medically controlled, but is now in Kidney Failure, and was just given 3-6 months expectancy, by my vet. I am dedicated to making every day a good or great one for her. She loves to go out shopping with me, and I will take her as much as she wants!
Cappy is a Belgian Malinois, dumped in my street when he was 3 months old. He thinks he is a big Bichon! He was a Pet Assisted Therapy dog for about a year, but didn't enjoy it, so he is now my Beach Dog! He loves running and chasing birds at the beach, and just hanging out with mom at the beach, and frolicing in the water! He also protects the house and his "pack" very well.
SugarBear is a Shih Tzu puppy, rescued off the streets at 4 months old, in May, this year, dumped because she has a deformed front leg. (Unrepairable.) She is the sweetest little girl, who thinks every human is her bestest friend in the world! I have to keep reminding her who her mommy is! She will be trained to be a Pet Assisted Therapy dog, in the spring.
Osiris is a kitty I rescued out of Animal Control, when I went to see if my kitty Cleopatra had been picked up, as she had gone missing. (I am hoping she was just stolen, as she was a very sweet, loving kitty, a flame-poing Siamese.) Osiris is a sweet kitty, who loves to be around his mom and his canine pack. He loves to cuddle and wrestle with the Willow and SugarBear, and sometimes with Leo!

Was the arrival of your Pet Kid(s) planned or is there a story?

The only two who were planned, were Demi and Daphne. My Dante Angel was adopted on my birthday, and he was named Dante because he "had been to hell and back". He was a puppy mill puppy, who at just under 1 year old, had been tied to a tree in front of the puppy mill, almost dead from starvation, with a sign that said $25.00, in front of him. My rescue group grabbed him, paid the money, and vetted him back to health. I felt it was fate that I heard about him on my birthday. Sadly, he died 10 years later (this spring) from a rare form of Prostate Cancer. (Highly unusual in neutered males!) He never really liked people, after his horrible 1st year, but every year I could see him blossom a little more, toward me, and other people that he knew well. There were only 2 people he trusted....me, and my best friend. He loved to be with me, though, and enjoyed travelling, when it was his turn to go on a trip with me. I miss him.

We don't do tricks! Mom keeps trying to get us to do them, but we know we will still get our treats without tricks!
