Does anyone have any idea on how to combat terrible itching and hair loss in a 4 year old rottweiler? It seems to be seasonal. Late May til now, this year.
This is the first year it has been so bad. I have had her to the vet. She was on antibiotics. I switched her food several times. We bathe her with doggy dandruff shampoo. She takes Benadryl everyday and she, and I, are still both miserable. What used to work in the past isn't working now. And oh yea, the vet checked her thyroid in case that was the problem. Thank goodness that was negative. Any ideas? Thank you.
P.S. I live in Texas where it has been really hot this year. I even thought of shaving my poor Chancey, that's how bad she suffers.

Have you tried giving a corn by product, corn, and corn meal free dog food? I have had this problem w/ my lab for yrs, and after switching her food w/out any corn additives it has seemed to help. And I give her brewers yeast tablets everyday.
