Hi guys,It's tempting to think that cornmeal, grits or other expanding foods will do what you describe but I'm sorry to say it's just an old tale. Ants cannot eat solid food-- take a look at their skinny neck and you'll see why. They do eat solids…Continue

Help end the decline of honeybees, bumblebees and other pollinators

Ahh yes...I did some shaking on a few I have in buckets in the front yard and it seems to work pretty well. We ( my 4 1/2 year old son and me) started tom's from seed this year and ended up with a LOT more than we had planned for...lol. So we ended up potting a few of the smaller varieties.
Just got back inside with a basket full of tom's, beans, corn and potatos. Not sure I'll plant corn again next year, it just doesn't seem to grow right for me. The ears are small and not fully developed for some reason. Plus the squirrels get the most of the corn anyhow. The few we do end up eating are sooo yummy and sweet though.
Will try to get some pictures snapped today, but I am a bit behind on weeding...lol.

Hey girl, well we had a wind storm and it knocked it off the table :o(, lost a bit, but it must weighted 75lbs so i tied it to a fence, so my 92 year old neighbor helen says to gentally shake the tomato plants every couple of day and they will self pollinate if you don;t have a lot bugs doing it and i use mushroom compost as a natural fertilizer works well.. But do to a short season i use miracle grow to speed it up or we will get notheing as our weather has been so bad.. well off to do work .. thanks for joining and i look forward to see your work. post it in discussion then i can feature you ok?? big hug wandap

What a great idea!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE my garden. It is a lot of work but soo worth it. Love your pictures and that tomato plant is HUGE!! What did you do with it?

I started all my plants from seed this year and the tom plants are doing and tasting soo much better. The fruit is a bit smaller than the steroided up store bought ones, but with my son I want to stay as natural as I can.

Am going to try and poast some pics soon :).
