My girls got their names like this:  I got Arianna first.  I have loved her name for a long time!  When I saw her puppy picture, I thought that she was the most beautiful puppy I'd ever seen! So, I thought, "A beautiful name for a beautiful girl!"  She had her name before I went to see her!

Pebbles was only 2.5lbs when we got her.  She was only 4 days younger than Arianna but about half of Arianna's weight.  Jim thought she looked like a tiny pebble, so he called her Pebbles.  She was tiny when we got her, but it wasn't long and she was taller than Arianna!

Zena, was named after Zena warrior princess, cause she was a fighter!
Lelo was named when I got her, after she was adopted, she was named after Lelo and stitch !!
Persey was already named when I got him. Sophie and Ernie, I just liked the names.

I could tell you about all my pets but I think I will just go with the ones I have now as the others had past away.

Jigsaw(Jiggy for short) is my black cat. He was kinda of a puzzles so that is why I named him that. The name Puzzles was already taken.

Sam was named after my grandparents dog. his named was Sam too. My dog is a parti-poodle and will be 1 year old Tuesday(13th)

Several years ago, I had got a black, female Chow Chow from a rescue. When the rescue got her, they said that they could not lift one hair anywhere on this dog's coat. So, when I got her, they had shaved her from the back of her head, under her chin, her whole body, her tail, and part way down each of her legs. She kind of looked like a pot-belly pig in a poodle clip, without the curly hair! She had been badly neglected by whoever had owned her before. There was also abuse because she was terrified of things. I wanted to choose a name for her that was Chinese, because Chow Chows are a Chinese breed, but I wanted a name that I could pronounce. This was before I had a computer, so I had to go to the library. I found a book that had all kinds of names. I saw a name that said it meant Tomorrow's Flower. I thought that would suit this girl, because her hair cut wasn't going to stay like that forever. I decided that when tomorrow would come, I'd have a beautiful flower! I named her Ming Hua. We pronounced it Ming Wah. And, I was right, she was so beautiful!! Do you know, that poor little girl didn't know what cheese was when I first got her?

Bev, you sound like you had a very interesting dog. Nice name.

Thank you so much!!

Your welcome.

It seems that everyone that has a pet are precious and will named them in their own way or reason. Could be anything.
