My rescued German Shepherd, Titan, may have hip displasia. He has several signs of it and I simply CAN'T afford to treat him if he does... I can't even afford to have him X-rayed. I don't know what to do! I think it's in the beginning stages, but it's affecting him already (assuming that's what it is) because sometimes he does that characteristic weird stiff walk while wagging his butt up and down, and to the side - just on a normal walk. He also sits with one leg totally under his rump, stands with his back arched up and groans when he lays down. It bothers me and I worry that with all of the exercise I give him (I have to!!! He has TONS of energy), he will get worse. His origin is suspected to be from a bad breeder who had many warnings about his facility... And to show for it, Titan is built very poorly structurally. Top it all off, German Shepherds get HD A LOT. Do you have a dog with HD? If so, would you please share your story and what you do/did for them? Thanks.
