Little Dog, Big Problem

I have this dog, Bernie. He is 9 years old with one eye and a crooked tail. At home, he is a great dog, but in public.... Bernie is terribly shy and never leaves my mom's side. And when other dogs are around, well theres a problem. You see, Bernie gets into lots of fights with other dogs, which really sucks for the dogs, the owner and Bernie's family. Because of this, I am not aloud to take Bernie for walks by myself, and he can't go camping with me or anything. What do I do?

wow its great to hear u have the same problem as me that is just how my dog prince is but i do need to find him a forever home cuz of it though cuz i have other pets involved and he hurts my rot and he is just a little chi mix i dont like how its not fair to them this is gonna be a problem for others to adopt him though cuz he is attached to me and he is scared of others too though i think hes gonna need real patient people and have him be the only animal he would like that alot better and my other animals would feel so awful too i haope u have good luck with taht problwm i dont know how to solve it
