San Antonio was not in the direct path; though we received a lot of evacuees. A hangar at Stinson Airport was set up as a pet shelter...and over 400 dogs and other animals ended up there. It's such a distressing time for everyone. Your heart just breaks.

PandoMusic for Dogs and Cats donated a set of cd's to help calm and soothe them while there. When I was there, we played a CD in the room with the smaller dogs and it seemed to help reduce the barking. The dogs seemed a bit more calm. The volunteers were going to bring in more boom boxes to play the music throughout the shelter so the bigger dogs, and the cats, could also be soothed. We need to find ways to help these pets in these times (pandomusic.net)

We hope and pray that everyone in the path of Ike will come through okay. Rough days are still ahead.
