Event Description

Pet owners visiting the 2016 Northern Indiana Pet Expo June 18-19, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne can save money and get special perks for committing to get Fluffy or Fido fixed.

H.O.P.E. for Animals, northeast Indiana’s only high-volume, low-cost spay/neuter and wellness clinic, is joining with NOOTERS Club®, creator of whimsical apparel and gifts that promote pet spay and neuter, to give pet owners special incentives when they pre-pay for dog or cat spays/neuters at the Expo.  Pet owners who purchase spay/neuter certificates will receive:

  • A $5 savings off the regular cost of spay/neuter at H.O.P.E. for Animals, which ranges from $35 to $85 based on pet species, age and size.  Certificates must be redeemed within 90 days.
  • Ability to book their pet’s appointment on the spot.
  • A free NOOTERS Club® t-shirt for the first 10 pet owners buying a spay/neuter certificate.
  • A free NOOTERS Club® window decal for all pet owners buying a spay/ neuter certificate.

NOOTERS Club® will also donate $2 to H.O.P.E for Animals for every t-shirt, tank top and nightshirt sold at the Expo.

Each year, thousands of dogs, cats and other pets are euthanized at Indiana shelters due to pet overpopulation.  H.O.P.E. for Animals and NOOTERS Club® are hoping that the incentives will encourage more pet owners to get their pets sterilized and help prevent unwanted puppy and kitten births. Spaying and neutering also reduces the risk of many cancers in dogs and cats.

“Spaying and neutering your pet is the first thing you can do to help your dog or cat live a longer life,” says Mistyna Reiter, community outreach and volunteer coordinator with H.O.P.E. for Animals. “Plus, by preventing unwanted litters, pet owners are doing their part to help reduce pet overpopulation here in Fort Wayne.”

“NOOTERS Club® is delighted to be helping pets in northern Indiana,” says NOOTERS Club founder Linda Wasche. “Our humorous designs carry a serious message. We hope that many pet owners will come out to take advantage of this offer.”

To purchase the spay/neuter certificates, Expo visitors must visit the H.O.P.E. for Animals booth. To get the free perks, they must then present their receipt at the NOOTERS Club® booth.

The discounted spay/neuter certificates are available for sale only to visitors of the Northern Indiana Pet Expo which will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, June 18 and Sunday, June 19 at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.   Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for children 6 to 12, free for children 5 and under, and $1 for healthy spayed and neutered dogs and cats. The Expo is hosted by the Allen County SPCA. For information, go to www.northernindianapetexpo.org.
