Time to Lend Support, Compassion and Prayers - - Our Rascal has been hurt...

Hi Friends,

I just received a gut wrenching phone call from our friend Jacque. Jacque spent many many hours in the early days of this site offering encouragement, help, and assistance to many members and friends. We've become offline friends, as well as online friends. It's hard to even know what to say about the news I received from this phone call. But, it's made me physically ill to receive this news. Jacque's little Westie: Rascal, bolted out of the house yesterday and was hit by a car. He's in ICU and will need several surgeries. They say Rascal will survive this, but the very sad news is: he will lose his eyesight. I am just sick for Jacque, Rascal, and her whole family. They are devastated to say the least.

 

They all have a long road ahead of them, for Rascal's recovery will take quite some time. Please help me pray for Jacque, Rascal, John her husband, and their little Yorkie: Sassy. Sassy will have to be Rascal's eyes now. It's been my experience that Jacque and John will probably suffer more than Rascal, with the loss of Rascal's eyesight. I am always amazed at how quickly our sweet little animals adapt. I have no doubt that Rascal will rally and have many wonderful years of life ahead of him. My biggest prayer is for God to give Jacque and John peace about this. It was a freak accident. They are such wonderful pet parents, and love their animals like their children.

UPDATE on RASCAL....He is out of his surgeries now and doing well! He will be in ICU untill tomorrow morning and if all goes as well as it is right now then he will be coming home tomorrow nite! I am having very mixed emotions right now ....I am soooo happy that he made it thru his surgeries so well and that he will be coming home soon but GOD I AM GOING TO MISS HIS BEAUTIFUL EYES!!! Don't get me wrong tho I am truly grateful and blessed that he survived this. GOD IS GOOD! It is SUCH a blessing too when I see I have friends that truly care . I am so sorry to hear about Rascal's eyes, I was so hoping they could save one of them.  Please let Jacque know she is in our thoughts and prayers.

I just spoke with Jacque. I had hoped and prayed that the Eye Surgeon would find a way to save one of Rascal's eyes. But sadly, they said it wasn't possible. Rascal's still in surgery. They worked on his foot, and are now performing the eye surgery. We should get another update this evening. One thing for sure, Rascal couldn't have better pet parents to take care of him during his recovery. He is definitely loved.

Me too honey, i just talked to the land lord and we are going to build a gate up front, i hardly slept as well worrying as lelo just booted out to see a friend.. too close for comfort.. our love jacque

I'm going to call you today Jacque. I hardly slept last night thinking about little Rascal. I want to find out how he's doing today, and if they did the eye surgery yet or not.
