Time to Lend Support, Compassion and Prayers - - Our Rascal has been hurt...

Hi Friends,

I just received a gut wrenching phone call from our friend Jacque. Jacque spent many many hours in the early days of this site offering encouragement, help, and assistance to many members and friends. We've become offline friends, as well as online friends. It's hard to even know what to say about the news I received from this phone call. But, it's made me physically ill to receive this news. Jacque's little Westie: Rascal, bolted out of the house yesterday and was hit by a car. He's in ICU and will need several surgeries. They say Rascal will survive this, but the very sad news is: he will lose his eyesight. I am just sick for Jacque, Rascal, and her whole family. They are devastated to say the least.

 

They all have a long road ahead of them, for Rascal's recovery will take quite some time. Please help me pray for Jacque, Rascal, John her husband, and their little Yorkie: Sassy. Sassy will have to be Rascal's eyes now. It's been my experience that Jacque and John will probably suffer more than Rascal, with the loss of Rascal's eyesight. I am always amazed at how quickly our sweet little animals adapt. I have no doubt that Rascal will rally and have many wonderful years of life ahead of him. My biggest prayer is for God to give Jacque and John peace about this. It was a freak accident. They are such wonderful pet parents, and love their animals like their children.

Rascal went for his check up yesterday and did very well! They removed the stitches from his foot and changed his bandage. They also put a bigger E-collar on him cuz he keeps licking his foot and getting his bandage wet. He is such a trooper thru this! He is learning new commands such as , back up, watch out and this way. His progress is amazing me! He is starting to play now(finally!). When he is outside he "frolics" like a donkey when he gets excited...LOL. Its a site to see! LOL cracks me up! Love him to death! He goes back to vet tomorrow to hopefully get stitches removed from his eye area. :)

Hi everyone and thanks for your support...and Wanda I am having to work this one day at a time and as I notice a problem area (like if he goes into my bathroom he always manages to close the door on himself). I installed a doorstop on the bottom of the door so he cant close himself in.
